Living a life aligned with your personal values brings a lot of meaning, joy and fulfillment.
But it brings as well a lot of sacrifice, sometimes pain and rejection.
Acting aligned with your values is rarely about compromises.
You stick to your values or not.
You believe something is right or not.
There are not half-baked solutions when it comes to #values.
That's why a life of a CEO or any other leader or professional can be extremely fulfilling or miserable.
Our choice.
Kharlan made a decision aligned with what she believes in.
👉She has chosen to respect human rights more, than the sports rules. 👈
"The 32-year-old rejected Smirnova's handshake afterwards, instead offering her sabre to tap blades.
It led to an appeal from Smirnova, who staged a 45-minute sit-down protest.
"My message today is that we Ukrainian athletes are ready to face Russians on the sports field but we will never shake hands with them," Kharlan said afterwards."

As we celebrate the achievements of the talented athletes in the #Olympics, let's not forget those who fight for their freedom and human rights every day.
Our leaderboard shows the not-so-glamorous side of the competing countries. Would you really want first place in this race?
We take this important global opportunity of the Olympics to urge all countries, whether they are competing in the Olympics or not, to acknowledge and prioritise the issues of modern slavery.
📢All countries must interrogate their laws and practices. They need to reform existing laws or establish new ones to protect people from exploitation and slavery.
As we get entertained by the spectacle and excitement of the Olympic Games, it is crucial to remain mindful of the serious issues that persist in our world, such as modern slavery. While we celebrate the achievements of athletes and the spirit of international unity, we must also acknowledge that in countries like China, the USA, and France, significant efforts are still needed to protect those who are very vulnerable, including those in prison-systems.
Modern slavery, often thrives in hidden and neglected environments, including within prison systems. Inmates can be subjected to exploitative labor conditions, with little to no protection of their basic human rights. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that the principles of justice, fairness, and human dignity extend to all individuals, regardless of their circumstances.
Let’s continue raising awareness and advocating for stronger protections and reforms, we can help bring an end to these injustices. As we enjoy the global celebration of the Olympics, let us also commit to supporting efforts that ensure freedom and dignity for every human being. All must win.

Apparantly the whole world can compete and should be a show of world unity.
Well not all countries can compete, besides the ones banned.
There are countries that don't support their athletes, because either, they can't, or don't want to.
Also the cost of going to the Olympics, is not given, mainly for developing countries.
The competitions, at least before, where mainly disputed by the powers that are, showing their extensive delegations, and high caliber athletes, the typical USA/RUSSIA (not present 2024), others.
So, it is not really world participation, and of course, sports has become a current business transaction.
As Ukrainian citizens from all walks of life, including athletes pay the ultimate sacrifice with their life's at the front line to defend and protect democracy for Ukraine, Europe and the democratic societies around the World against autocratic dictatorships. The Olympic committee in their ultimate act of Hypocrisy and Absence of Moral Character expose themselves for what they truly are by allowing russian and belarussian athletes to participate in the 2024 summer Olympics. It just confirms that Corruption is alive and well within the Olympic Committee when representatives from a country who have invaded a sovereign country killing their civilians, stealing their children and destroying their towns and cities are allowed to participate in the Olympics.
What is the main idea of the Olympics? The Olympic Games are an international sports festival, held every four years. The ultimate goals are "to cultivate human beings, through sport, and contribute to World peace." This goal is not reached by Rewarding the representatives of these criminal autocratic regimes participation in the Olympics. “WTF”

Supporting the All Blacks over the Springboks can be seen as more patriotic for a coloured, black, or African individual because it rejects the historical association of the Springboks with apartheid and white supremacy. During apartheid, the All Blacks faced sanctions and backlash for touring South Africa, including:
- The 1976 All Blacks tour was met with international protests and boycotts
- The 1981 All Blacks tour sparked the famous Flour Bomb protest in New Zealand
- The International Rugby Board (IRB) imposed sanctions on South African rugby in 1984
By supporting the All Blacks, individuals acknowledge this history and the team's stance against apartheid. In contrast, supporting the Springboks can be seen as condoning or ignoring this painful history. Choosing the All Blacks is a declaration of independence from apartheid's legacy, making it a more patriotic act.
Ugandan Runner and Paris 2024 Olympian Rebecca Cheptegei passed away today as a result of injuries sustained from intimate-partner violence. Her tragic death is a stark reminder than no one is immune from gender-based violence, even Olympians.
Netrápme sa tými, čo nechápu. Spájajme sa s takými, čo majú srdce.
1yWe people in Europe will never recognize anything Russian because they no longer deserve it! They destroyed everything with what they did..
