VivaWomen! UK were honoured to be 2023 delegates at the Women's Forum for the Economy & Society (A Publicis Groupe company) where we heard from a wide range of women (and men) leading the way to create a more equitable world. We heard inspirational stories from change makers Helen Gwanfogbe Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Tawakkol Karman, Begoña Lasagabaster and Chelsea Clinton amongst others and were challenged to be the change we need to see in education, corporations and society at large. Perhaps the most inspiring moment of the forum for us was to see so many accomplished female leaders from across Publicis Groupe take the stage, from Agathe Bousquet and Demet İkiler to Suzi LeVine and, of course, Anne-Gabrielle Heilbronner. #wfgm23 Video credit to Fifi Ahmed

Today, we celebrate the achievements and contributions of women across the world. Women's Day is also an important reminder of the unfinished work that lies ahead. In tech, women make about 28% of the global workforce, a number which is very much a reminder of the work ahead of us in bringing this number closer to 50%. As a society, we still have to close the gaps in education, health, economic opportunities, and political representation that hinder women's full potential and rights. We still have to end the violence, discrimination, and oppression that women face every day. As a Company, JiBe’s efforts yielded notable results, and the percentage of women in JiBe comprises 31% of the organization and rising. In recent years we have been able to promote and raise the number of women in the upper management levels, and a further increase is a key goal of the leadership. It is encouraging that JiBe’s leadership in software for the maritime industry, goes beyond the core business, and we lead in diversity. We proudly share the virtual celebration done by our global Women leaders at JiBe during International Women's Day 2024.

Managing Director #SheTransformsIT @ BDI | Impact & Data Driven Economist | Fulbright Alumna | Mentor | GermanDream Ambassador | 2hearts
Hello World, My name is Alexandrea Swanson. I am the Managing Director of #SheTransformsIT at BDI - Bundesverband der Deutschen Industrie e.V. By trade I am a political scientist, economist, and philosopher. For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a thing for numbers and using them to explain how our 🌎 works. While studying economics, I became intrigued with efficiency and how #homooeconomicus can (help) explain human interactions, markets and societies. However, there are still a few numbers and market failures that I fundamentally don’t understand and won’t let be. #Women make up half of the population worldwide (currently 3.95 billion). Yet, no where on the planet (to my knowledge) are they equally represented in leading #industry positions, board rooms, C-Level positions or in democracies. In our 6,000 years of #civilization gender parity has (to my knowledge) not been widespread achieved. In western societies, more women receive university degrees 🎓 and even have better grades. Yet, we fail to meet #equal representation in our societies, economic markets and parliaments. It’s time for this to change. One simple solution. 👉 Make women more visible with #ONEMILLIONWOMEN! Studies show time and time again that when women are more visible, not only do #economies grow, our societies are happier, more inclusive and even more sustainable. And guess what? You can be part of the solution! Get active now by nominating women you know in the workplace! 🚀The #ONEMILLIONWOMEN! initiative aims at making one million women visible in in the workplace. Our conviction behind it is: To get ahead, you have to be seen! The nominees are portrayed with names and portraits on LinkedIn creating more publicity and visibility for women in the work place. I’ve been a huge fan and supporter of this initiative since it began. I couldn’t be more excited to nominate the following 🔟 women: 🏆Pina Schlombs 🏆Eva Keretic 🏆Lena John 🏆Kristin Keveloh 🏆Johanna Rüdiger 🏆Lisa Ihde 🏆Sarah Needham 🏆Britta Mittlefehldt 🏆Zohal Nazari 🏆Katharina Könches ❓How to get to #ONEMILLIONWOMEN: If every nominated woman nominates another 10 women: 10 to the power of 6 = 1 million. Link 🔗 to submit nominees is below! PS. Men can also nominate women. 🙏 Dr. Ulrike C. Straßer for your commitment to this topic. So honored to be a #ONEMILLIONWOMEN ambassador. 📸Katja Hentschel
