Great to see the spotlight on the powerful pull of film and TV locations in inspiring visits to #Britain highlighted in Canada's Travelweek during the Toronto International Film Festival #tiff2024. Our upcoming international 'Starring GREAT Britain' campaign, rolling out early 2025, is using places seen-on-screen to encourage visitors to explore destinations that are the star of the show and to come now, boosting visits and spend across more of #Britain. As our Country Manager in Canada Cathy Stapells comments in the article “We want to work with you (our travel trade in market) to build itineraries to showcase the wealth of screen tourism product to your clients.” Our latest research shows that film tourism is a significant motivator for travel. Ninety-one percent of potential visitors surveyed across 20 overseas markets were keen to visit #film and #TV locations used in filming or seen-on-screen during their holidays here in the UK. 🎞 📽 Nick de Bois CBE Patricia Yates Gavin Landry Paul Gauger Ritushri Dhankher Tracey Edginton Beth Reynard Robin Johnson Emma Wilkinson GREAT Britain & Northern Ireland Campaign https://lnkd.in/eJFHm2qk

We were awarded joint Gold for the Positive Impact and Event Legacy award at the Meeting & Incentive Travel Awards 2024 for our work in #BusinessEvents, alongside Lightbulb Teams. Delivered in partnership with #MEET4IMPACT#MEET4IMPACT and Global Destination Sustainability Movement (GDS-Movement) since 2022, the Shape the Future of Events programme is an important project supporting the transition to more impactful and sustainable business events for clients, destinations and their communities. Thank you to our many destination partners for their valuable contribution to this programme, our education partners and co-creators, and to M&IT Magazine for the recognition. Meet In Wales has been recognised for their brilliant Wellness of Future Generations Act – adopted throughout the business events industry. 👏 Through the work conducted by Meet In Wales, the Act is a commitment from Welsh destinations to support events that bring positive qualities to #Wales, that get the most of people and places, and that leave only positive legacies behind.
