A user led organisation, Aerobility is run largely by disabled aviators, for disabled people. Through various fundraising initiatives and careful management strategies we allow disabled people to fly for a fraction of the commercial rate. We do this because taking the controls of an aircraft drives a focus on capability and encourages our flyers to ask the question "If I can fly an aeroplane, what else can I do?" Flying your plane to Oshkosh? – good luck! It should be no surprise that many pilots fly their aircraft "in" to the fly-in. Thousands, perhaps millions or even billions of aircraft of all types will literally descend into KOSH before, after, and during AirVenture. Maybe you should be piloting one of them. Thousands of FAA Air Traffic Controllers "volunteer" every year to staff the tower at AirVenture. They are given a cool t-shirt, free ice water (no beer), and some sort of hat as compensation for the weeks and months they must spend away from their homes and families to ensure their safety and separation from other traffic. When I say "volunteer" using quotation marks, I don't do so to imply that the controllers are not actually volunteering. I am coming right out and saying so. Here is how it works: · A tower controller notices a tasty, sponge cake-looking crème-filled pastry on his or her car's windshield while walking out to the parking lot at the end of a shift at their local airport. · The controller is shot and tranquilized with a dart fired from an air rifle wielded by a skilled FAA marksman. · Once the controller gets a quick medical exam and is ear tagged, he or she is released at the base of the control tower at KOSH. The sweet aroma of another donut-shaped object coaxes them up into the tower's cab and flight safety is once more enhanced. This procedure explains why you will see this statement at the bottom of your AirVenture ticket: *no controllers were harmed during the execution of this fly-in

📍 Lifeboat is one of the most important life-saving equipment onboard a ship, which is used at the time of extreme emergencies for abandoning a ship. 📍Lifeboat is a smaller rigid vessel, secured onboard into davits so that it can be launched over the side of the ship with least time and mechanical assistance possible for an early escape of the crew from the ship. 📍A lifeboat must carry all the types of equipment described under SOLAS and LSA codes, which are passed for the survival at sea. This includes rations, freshwater, first aid, compass, distress signalling equipment like rocket etc. 📍A ship must carry one rescue boat for the rescuing purpose, along with other lifeboats. One of the lifeboats can be designated as a rescue boat if more than two or more lifeboats are present onboard a ship. #SOLAS #LSA #IMO #Safety

May 14 marks our annual National Slow Down and Move Over Day, which reminds drivers to slow down and move over for first responders and stopped tow trucks with flashing amber lights. As a longtime advocate of road safety, today CAA clubs across Canada unite and advocate for safer roads for everyone. At CCG, we are passionate about safety and believe everyone deserves a safe workplace, including Associates who operate CAA tow trucks. We all play a role in #RoadSafety. As we approach the summer driving season, we remind drivers to slow down, and wherever possible, move over when approaching a roadside emergency rescue.
