12 months ago, we were nothing but an idea, some designs, and a pitch deck. I went out and raised capital and got a fair share of no’s before I got my first yes. 6 months ago, we 'soft’ launched. We shipped early, and I mean super early, we launched with only a couple of features barely working and a bunch of bugs. Since then, it’s been pedal to the metal. We’ve gone from strength to strength. Building, testing, measuring, and creating something that will truly make a difference. We’ve proven our hypothesis that Kiwis need better tools to empower them to be better with money, not just for budgeting but from their first paycheck to their pension. Now it’s time to deliver on that. The product roadmap is stacked, the marketing calendar is full and we’re ready to go 🙌🏻 It’s been a massive team effort, so i’ve got to give a special shout-out to the legends who have been instrumental in getting us to where we are today, and we’re only just getting started. Simon Rolland for believing in the mission and vision from day one, always pushing the status quo and bringing new ideas and directions to the table. All of this definitely wouldn’t be possible without you. Bradley Kirkland for bringing this idea to life from the tech side, taking care of the technical nuts and bolts, and driving the vision forward with the team to build this beast. Josh Daniell and the Akahu team, for being the leaders of change in the NZ Fintech ecosystem and unlocking the ability for Kiwis to securely and safely have control of their data and utilise it with apps like BudgetBuddie. Our early adopters, a massive shoutout to you all for all your feedback and for hanging in there while we’ve been building this from the ground up. We’re super excited for what’s to come! Want to know more about us? Check out www.budgetbuddie.co.nz or feel free to get in touch [email protected] To the moon 🚀
WE'RE BACK! Well, we never left 👀 but while we've been quiet, we've been busy behind the scenes for the last 6 months building out new features, gaining feedback, fixing bugs, and much more! Stay tuned over the coming weeks as we lift the curtain on what we've been working on.

It's lonely navigating the Music Industry as a trans man. There's this fear that no one will *truly* accept you and celebrate your contributions. Nico Machlitt and Daniel Iammatteo are building something that has inspired me to keep my head up and connect with other LGBTQ+ professionals in our industry. I don't want to be put in a DEI box, I want to thrive and show other trans men you can be in this industry and succeed. You can have a golden ear AND can be trans. You can contribute significantly to the Music Industry AND be trans. You can have steady income, a career, AND be trans in ANY sector. It's not one or the other. That option is there for our community that has been systemically and continuously ostracized from the workforce. 1 out of 4 trans colleagues lose their job due to bias and workforce discrimination. It's heartbreaking, but it's true. There's a reason these rooms feel so lonely. That's why I can't wait to see what Queer Capita is bringing into 2023. Community and understanding will propel us as LGBTQ+ professionals. Doors are opening. Gates are coming down. Looks are being served. Queerness has and will always be a powerful source of creativity in our industry (See: any rockstar...ever.) SO WATCH THIS SPACE. *purr. The queer wave is about to hit our Industry like no other. Cheers to #transvisibility in the #musicindustry!
We're entering our new era!
