What do sales and the Olympics have in common? The level of preparation, attention to detail, and laser focus that athletes bring to their game day is incredible. They’re not just competing—they’re enjoying the show because they’ve put in the work. Sales is no different. Early in my career, I made the mistake of thinking I could just show up and win, just like the high-performing colleagues who seemed to effortlessly walk into meetings and crush it. I couldn’t have been more wrong. What I missed was the level of preparation they put into their craft, allowing them to show up with confidence and make it look effortless on game day. The more time and effort we dedicate to preparation, the more we can enjoy the thrill of closing a deal.

This month was his comeback month, he made a massive turnaround from the previous two months so much so that he was able to assist HEAVILY in getting our last location to goal on the last day of the month!!! Without his willingness to learn and change his behavior for the better, I would still be two locations short of where I'd want to finish April!!! If you know me and know my team, you know we love one thing; Winning together! Not a super common theme in the sales world, but we make it work! Anyone watching the All-Star game tonight? In sales, the key traits that distinguish high achievers from underperformers often boil down to patience and consistency. Those sales reps who initially struggle but exhibit resilience, maintain a positive attitude, and trust the process tend to achieve greater long-term success compared to those who experience quick early wins and find it easier to gain momentum. Jurickson Profar, outfielder for the San Diego Padres journey mirrors this principle. Despite a delayed ascent, he eventually thrived with the Padres and, at 31, earned his first All-Star Game appearance this year. "That's why I kept working," Profar said. "I could’ve been rich and just be whatever, living on an island. ... But I kept working, and it's paying off." Keep grinding, stay consistent and trust the process. Far too many reps pull the rip cord early pointing to excuses like bad territory, lack of training, less than optimal product fit etc. Yes, of course not all roles will work out and there's lot's of bad roles out there, just check out RepVue, but there's more often than not a payoff if you give roles a chance and keep on keeping on for a just a bit longer.
