We’ve done it! We’ve hit and surpassed our fundraising target four days before taking part in Total Warrior. Any contribution you can spare to push us even further past our goal, however, would have an immeasurable impact on our charity partner St. Gemma's Hospice – a wonderful provider of expert care and support for local people in Leeds with terminal and life-limiting illnesses. We have a team of over 20 staff members who are taking on the 6km challenge at Bramham Park this Saturday afternoon. Massive thanks to all our backers who have pledged their support so far (and those yet to!) and big respect to our team who have given up their time (some more prepared than others, we suspect..) for this worthiest of causes.

Taking on a challenge is good for your mental health and can push you to achieve beyond what you think is possible! That is why next month I’ll be walking 1.8 million steps (1084 miles) in 90 days to raise money for Diabetes UK . Here is a little video that I put together in preparation for the 1st July. If you would like to donate, please follow the link https://lnkd.in/e5VNWuYG #challenge #charity #mindset

Starting off this Monday morning and week with some exciting news! At least it's exciting to me...🥳🤩 Jason Hughes and I are running ANOTHER marathon for charity🏃♀️🏃♂️ You know the drill, new race = new organization to raise funds and awareness for. This time around, we're running and raising funds for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. They are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment👩🏾⚕️ Additionally, no child is denied treatment from St. Jude based on race, religion, or a family's ability to pay. For these reasons, we’ve chosen to fundraise for St. Jude. This cause is very important to both of us; we have friends and family whose lives were drastically improved thanks to the ongoing work of St. Jude❤️🩹 We know that with the research and treatments they provide, that is likely true for you, as well. We're encouraged by the support we've already received, and we still need help reaching our total fundraising goal of $10,500 (which is being collected through two separate pages, the first of which is linked below). This is the minimum amount required to secure two spots in the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon, where we will each run 26.2 miles to raise awareness and funds🎖 Please note that 100% of the donated funds are directly supporting St. Jude; these are not used to cover travel expenses, etc. We know that with the help of our family and friends, we can reach this goal. Please help us by making a tax-deductible donation using the link below and sharing this throughout your network. Note: if you or someone you know has had a life-changing experience thanks to St. Jude, please reach out to me if you're willing to share your story. https://lnkd.in/gryDEZET #charityrunners #marathonrunners #runforgood #giveback

Dear LinkedIn network, I need your support. In just one week's time, together with my workmates, I will take part in a fundraising walk organised by Aviva Investors and charity Action for A-T in support of children affected by Ataxia Telangiectasia (A-T). I first learnt about this charity via a colleague with personal experience of its impact. As a mum to a 3 and 5 year old, when she described how it is often the case that the real signs and impact of A-T occur just at the age children are becoming more self-aware and competitive in the playground, it really hit home. This is a rare and degenerative condition that debilitates many different parts of the body and generally appears in early childhood. Symptoms progressively worsen, leading to full-time wheelchair use before their early teens. In the UK, research funding for A-T is extremely limited, and your donation to Action for A-T, however small, will be making a real difference. *** please sponsor me by using the link below 👇 *** https://lnkd.in/eCDUEhT4 Let's raise awareness and much needed funds for Action for A-T, and help them find a cure or treatment for A-T. #ThankYou 🙏🏻 #Ataxia #ActionForAT #Fundraising #DisabilityInclusion #AvivaInvestors #ItTakesAvivaInvestors #Aviva

Last week I met with Fiona Moss of The Natalie Kate Moss Trust to present a cheque of £2,500 from the St. James's Place Foundation. The Natalie Kate Moss Trust (NKMT) was set up in 2012 by the Moss family following the sudden death of Natalie at the age of 26 after an unexpected Brain Haemorrhage. Focusing on turning this tragedy into something positive, NKMT's mission is to empower people to understand how to prevent lifestyle related brain haemorrhages from occurring, whilst generating funds to support ground breaking research to treat them when they do. By joining forces with Manchester University, they support ground breaking research into Stroke at the University whose vision is to improve outcome after a brain haemorrhages. This is a condition which is not discussed enough and may be prevented through raising more awareness which is a key focus for the charity. Please do take a look and spread the word: https://lnkd.in/eutmuiiS The St. James's Place Foundation funds small and medium sized UK registered charitable organisations with four main themes; Supporting young people - special needs or disadvantaged Supporting people with cancer Mental health Hospices If anyone knows of any small charities which need support and fall into one of the above categories, the foundation may be able to help. https://lnkd.in/eidGZ2ex Hope everyone has a great Tuesday! #businessowners #supportingcharities

As traumatic memories are visually stored, using art to connect to them can be more immediate. This allows individuals to choose what they create and gradually release aspects of the trauma at their own pace, preventing overwhelm. ⭐ The Power of Paying It Back—and Paying It Forward Achieving financial freedom through multifamily apartment investing has been an incredible journey, but it’s far from the ultimate goal. For me, true success comes when we give back to the communities that have supported us and pay it forward by helping those in need. One of the greatest joys I've experienced is using the freedom I've gained to uplift others—whether through charitable donations, supporting local causes, or mentoring those just starting their own journey. By giving back, we create a ripple effect of generosity that touches many lives. Here are some causes my wife and I have proudly supported: 🔷 OCUnited: A coalition of citizens, nonprofits, and churches working to heal and prevent trauma through restorative relationships and holistic care in Orange County, California (ocunited.org). 🔶 Camp Agape California: A free, four-day camp for children of incarcerated parents, offering them opportunities for spiritual, social, and relational growth, and preparing them for restorative relationships with their parents upon release. 🔷 Operation Christmas Child (Samaritan’s Purse): Demonstrating God’s love to children in need around the world by sending shoeboxes packed with quality gifts to over 100 countries (samaritanspurse.org). 🔶 Malibu Triathlon: Over six years, I’ve raised more than $40,000 for pediatric cancer research at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles through this event (malibutri.com). 🔷 Second Harvest Food Bank Orange County: Providing consistent access to nutritious food, fostering health, and creating a foundation for strong communities (feedoc.org). 🔶 Fullerton Free Church Ministries: We have served as peer counselors, helping others navigate life’s challenges (fullertonfree.com). 🔷 The Third Option: A skills-based program that fosters stronger, more fulfilling relationships, where we’ve served as small group facilitators (thethirdoptionoc.com). Throughout these experiences, I’ve been fortunate to stand alongside incredible individuals such as Chandra Wilson and Sandra Oh who I shared a mission of service with raising funds for mitochondrial disease research. Who knew at the time? I could have been the next "McSteamy" or "McDreamy!" But, instead, I chose a path where the greatest role I can play is helping others thrive. How are you paying it forward? #PayItForward #GivingBack #CommunityImpact

This past Friday, I was privileged to organise a charity event for one of the most inspiring people in my life - my best friend Nell Summerley who battles Cystic Fibrosis every day. This experience served as a powerful reminder of the power that comes when your words align with your actions. 💛We often express our concern or care for people, and while words are important, they only carry weight when backed up by action. It's a common habit to stop at words, make promises, and express intentions, but the real magic happens when we take a step further when we turn those words into actions. 💛In organising this charity event, I aimed to raise funds and awareness for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust to help deliver life-changing medication and help find a cure. 💛The outcome was more powerful than I could have ever imagined. Not only were we successful in raising funds and awareness, but the overwhelmingly positive response from everyone has been amazing!! 💛This experience reminded me once again that it's not just about saying the right things; it's about doing the right things. Actions Speak Louder Than Words. #makeadifference #makeanimpact #actionsspeaklouder
