Great timing that our end of quarter celebration coincided with England’s match against Denmark last night, so naturally we decided to bring the party in-house!

We promised some data on the nation's favourite sport following the Euros final, and here's what we found 👇 YOUR EUROS IN NUMBERS ⚽️ Your player of the tournament was ... Cole Palmer! Joining him in the top five England players were Jude Bellingham; Bukayo Saka; Jordan Pickford and Ollie Watkins. The favourite England moment? Watkins' last minute winner vs Netherlands followed by Bellingham’s bicycle kick vs Slovakia. SOUTHGATE 👨🏻💼 Almost one in three think Southgate should be knighted, but just over half don't agree. And more respondents thought he should stay than go. 54% thought Southgate had a hard time in the media and 32% thought this could have had an impact on performance. Frank Lampard is the favourite to replace Southgate. SPAIN DESERVED IT 🇪🇸 Two thirds think LUCK played a bigger role than skill in England getting to the final. One in 10 view had split loyalties between England and Spain. A whopping eight in ten thought the ref was fair in the final. Are we entitled and think we should be winning? Over half (56%) thought so. Six out of ten think we should put less pressure on our players, managers and coaching staff. 87% think Spain deserved to win but 40% think Spain had an advantage given they had an extra day's recovery. RULES ✋🏼 Almost eight in 10 think we should also use VAR for fouls in dangerous free-kick locations as well as penalties 78% prefer the new rule that only Captains can speak with the referee during the game But an optimistic 43% believe England can go on to win the World Cup 2026! *N=1,000 respondents broken out by census gender and age splits, going out to England regions only. As Australians all turn their gaze to the Olympics, it is a very good time to remind everyone in all levels of government of the importance of sport in the well being of our country. Sadly, of late, we have had to rely on the foresight of long gone governments for our sporting facilities, as modern governments make sports facilities less of a priority for its citizens. We need more pools, multi-court facilities and open space if our children of today become the Olympians of tomorrow. In this election year, why not ask your local candidate how they plan to improve the access to sporting facilities for the next generation of Australians ?

We are lucky. 😘 Lucky to live in the world's largest multicultural democratic haven – Europe. Composed of imperfect democracies but far more perfect than many other regimes on the planet. What we have just experienced in France during these Olympic Games has shown us how the values that guide us, such as freedom, equality, and fraternity, are also values that sports magnify. Did you know? The 27 countries of the European Union, when we add up their medals, are comfortably ahead in terms of gold medals: 97! (vs. 40 USA and 40 China), silver medals: 95! (vs. 44 USA and 27 China), and the total number of medals won: 309!!! (vs. 126 USA and 91 China). It is easy to understand through this observation that sporting development, and therefore indirectly general well-being, is undoubtedly intimately linked to our multi-democratic situation. As the 2024 Olympics come to an end, while waiting for the 2024 Paris Olympics, several positive feelings dominate my state of mind, but above all, I am aware of my luck. I am so proud to be French, but especially proud to be European. Vive l’Europe. https://lnkd.in/ejUFBj7c

Not the 3–0 I predicted but are we being too harsh on England? Let’s look at the facts/positives: 1. We have won the group 2. Every other team in our group were happy to draw 3. Slovenia and Denmark will go through without winning a game 4. We are the only team to get a win in the group. 5. The only group where there was just 1 game won 6. We now get to play a 3rd place team in the last 16 7. Followed by a 2nd place team in the quarters 8. We won’t face a group winner until the semi-final 9. We avoid Spain, Germany, Portugal and France until the final 10. No one is singing “It’s coming home” 11. I'm still backing England to win the Euros! 😮 Does anyone agree with this? Am I too optimistic? Let's hear your thoughts... #England #Euros #GroupWinners

Now that the European Championships have concluded and Gareth Southgate has completed his eight-year tenure as England Manager, public opinion seems divided on his success. If we likened this to a business, eight years ago it might have been said to be on the verge of bankruptcy with poor results, demotivated staff, and significant underperformance. Since Gareth's appointment, he has statistically revitalised the team, which no longer operates in isolated groups, akin to a business's workforce. However, the customers (England supporters) harbour mixed feelings about his tenure, despite him being the most successful manager in nearly six decades. If these customers were to rate the team(company) on Google, it's uncertain how many would award five stars. Many business coaches believe in winning or learning. It could be argued that Southgate's cautious approach at Euro 2020 indicates he hasn't learned, continuing with a defensive strategy and a mindset more fearful of losing than eager to win. Having worked with numerous business owners and managing directors, I've observed that taking risks is often necessary for progression rather than remaining static. It will be intriguing to see who succeeds him and their chosen strategy. Are you pro or against Southgate during his term as England manager?
