Retail businesses are transforming warehouse accuracy with drones. With AI-driven autonomous tech, cycle counts are rapid, and inventory shrinkage dwindles dramatically. Stadium Goods, for example, boosted their inventory accuracy to over 99% and saved over $200k. Do you want similar results? It's time to upgrade to drone-based inventory management. #InventoryManagement #WarehouseEfficiency

Walmart's 3D-manufacturing initiative with unspun™ has a ways to go, but am I wrong in thinking this model has the potential to reshape the #retail industry? As described in Inc. Magazine by Sydney Sladovnik, the project checks a number of boxes around retail challenges — #SupplyChain, #fulfillment, #InventoryManagement, workforce mismatches, #sustainability. I do remember the initial excitement around Jeff Bezos announcing Amazon Prime Air. It took about a decade for the company to actually start drone delivery — but start it they did. Package-dropping drones are still hardly common, but regulation is catching up to the technology and shipping companies now have more leeway when it comes to taking to the skies. What do you see ahead for Walmart's initiative? Will my khakis be made in my own backyard anytime soon? https://lnkd.in/gr5vWipD #RetailInnovation #FearlessCommerce

Robotics in the warehouse: part 3 Recent advances in automation technologies have enabled robots to improve work productivity and quality, which consequently provides opportunities for warehouse staff to focus on more strategic duties. Robots can be used to optimise the tasks of palletizing and depalletizing, order packing, packaging, and stock control. 1. Stock Control Many fulfilment centres have vast building footprints and store enormous quantities of goods in vertical storage racks. This configuration is highly conducive to the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) or drones. The benefits of exploiting drones in the warehouse environment are attractive; for instance, in addition to enhancing personnel safety, drones can assist in automating routine tasks such as monitoring stock levels and inventory counting. Furthermore, for inventory control, drones have the ability to sense when stocking levels approach a minimum value, prompting AGVs to automatically replenish the appropriate bins. How does an online retailer ensure order-to-delivery in just 24 hours? In the competitive world of fashion retail, the first challenge concerns speed. In the ideal world, no more than 24 hours should pass from the moment when a customer confirms their order online, to the moment when they receive their order in the mail. Multiple autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) can help to achieve this, by quickly moving lightweight clothing orders around a warehouse. But the issue is cost. C-Log specialises in retail & e-commerce logistics, and has nine warehouses throughout France. To maximise productivity while keeping costs in check, C-Log designed their own AGV. maxon provided a torque-dense, energy efficient, and highly reliable motion solution that would power C-Log’s AMR fleet. Today, the automated warehouse has the capacity to handle 40,000 items per day. Read the story here: https://lnkd.in/ecsej2pK #drivenbymaxon C-Log - L'Expertise Supply Chain

“Inventory inaccuracy within retail logistics facilities is costly for split ships, missed ships and inventory write-offs. Drones are still new to the industry, and most retailers still run accuracy levels that are far too low, compared to the 99% they could see with drones.” Al Sambar, retail expert and General Partner at XRC Ventures, quoted in this Retail TouchPoints article by our VP of Customer Success, Sean Mitchell. Sean discusses how retailers can combat shrink with our solution and shares the results seen by Stadium Goods and Barrett Distribution Centers, Inc. Stadium Goods saw its inventory accuracy increase to over 99%, reducing inventory shrink from 2% to a fraction of a percent. It also eliminated manual counts and physical inventory (PI), saving over $200,000. Read more 👇 https://hubs.li/Q02g6Dzp0
