Collaborates with others to build and facilitate the philanthropy ecosystem | Relationship Management | Stakeholder Engagement | Member of the Conduit Club
👍 For all the right reasons, we’re taught to 'not talk to strangers’ as a child. But as an adult, I've found it is a beautiful (and beneficial) skill to have 💯. For about 13 years, I've been advocating for the wealth management industry to provide clients with solutions to their clients' needs – which are not always about increasing the AUM. I read an article in February this year about the work Nicholas Palahnuk has done to build PhilanthPro and out of curiosity dropped him a note. It was a superb first chat, even better to meet in person when he was next in London, and a delight that we are still in touch. I very much hope that when PhilanthPro reaches out to the UK, that the advisors follow the sensibilities of their peers in Canada and the US. This is the future…. 💫 And if you want to keep your clients (and your job), I highly recommend you pay attention 🤔. I honestly see the benefits of talking to strangers on nearly a daily basis (I think I’ve got addicted to it). Meeting Nicholas Palahnuk has brought me bundles of excitement and ideas about how philanthropy can move forward. And how beautiful, and what a benefit, that is... 💯. #philanthropy #philanthropists #giving #donors #funds #wealthmanagement #financialplanning #advisors #wealth
In the spirit of community, I share a bit of my own personal story in this piece as we kick of this new Q&A series in Foundation Magazine. Enjoy!
