🌍 Celebrating Indigenous Peoples' Day 🌍 On this Indigenous Peoples' Day, we honor and celebrate the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Indigenous peoples throughout the world. We are proud to spotlight Nicole Aunapu Mann, the first Native American woman to travel to space. As a United States Marine Corps Colonel and NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration astronaut, Mann's groundbreaking achievements—including her role as mission commander for NASA’s SpaceX Crew-5—illustrate the incredible potential of diverse perspectives in the fields of science and exploration. At Veracity Engineering, we are inspired by Nicole's journey and her commitment to breaking barriers, paving the way for future generations to pursue careers in STEM. Let us continue to learn from the past and work together toward a future that honors and uplifts all voices. #IndigenousPeoplesDay #NicoleAunapuMann #STEM #DiversityInAerospace #VeracityEngineering

SBIR/STTR contracts are crucial for innovation, especially in small businesses. They provide funding to develop breakthrough technologies, enhance proposal competitiveness, and open doors to new markets. Trevor Smith 🚀 highlighted the success of Atomic-6 in leveraging these contracts to develop dual-use applications, showcasing their importance in driving technological advancements and commercial success.
ICYMI, last week, we announced our second Direct-to-Phase II SBIR which will be utilized to produce the radome for a Hermeus Hypersonic aircraft (so excited for that collaboration!) Announcements coming soon for our first SBIR contract with NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration which involves the Moon and our largest SBIR contract ever (which is our first TACFI) that will further develop the MMOD shield for Space debris that we call Space Armor™.... STAY TUNED! If my math is correct, we've now been awarded 13 total SBIR/STTR contracts across USAF, USSF, DLA and NASA. Leveraging the SBIR program to develop true commercial dual-use applications is the recipe for success....so proud of our entire team at Atomic-6 ! #MarsOrBust

"United for the Protection of the Universe: Sustaining Earth and Beyond for Future Generations" While there is no specific "unified goal" dedicated solely to protecting the universe, the concept of protecting #Earth and its #environment is closely linked to global goals for sustainability. The #universe, with its vast and interconnected systems, is a reminder of the delicate balance that exists in nature. #Sustainability emphasizes the need to preserve this balance by responsibly managing resources to protect the planet and ensure the well-being of future generations. Together, they underscore the importance of living in harmony with our environment, recognizing that our actions impact the broader universe we are part of. #Sustainability #SDGs United Nations UN Convention to Combat Desertification NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration NASA Goddard Space Flight Center #wastemanagment #watermanagement "Unified for Universal Protection: Establishing Laws and Policies for a Sustainable Earth and Beyond"

Welcome back, Chapea's Crew! 🖖 🌎 After 378 days in isolation within NASA's CHAPEA 3D-printed habitat, your return marks a significant milestone in the study of long-duration space missions. To delve deeper into your experiences and the scientific implications, here are some intellectual questions inspired by the mission and the academic paper: #Psychological #Impact: How did prolonged isolation and confinement in the CHAPEA habitat affect your mental health? What coping strategies did you find most effective in maintaining psychological well-being? #Team #Dynamics: Over the course of the year, how did your team's dynamics evolve? Were there any notable changes in communication, conflict resolution, or collaboration? #Food #Growth #Systems: What were the key findings regarding the viability and efficiency of the food growth systems tested? How did the quality and variety of food impact your overall health and morale? #3D-#Printed #Habitat: How did the 3D-printed habitat perform in terms of structural integrity, comfort, and functionality? Were there any unexpected challenges or benefits associated with living in a 3D-printed environment? #Simulated #Mars #Conditions: To what extent did the simulated Mars conditions (such as reduced gravity, radiation exposure, and resource limitations) accurately reflect the challenges of an actual Mars mission? What adjustments, if any, would you recommend for future simulations? #Physical #Health: How did the extended stay in the habitat impact your physical health? Were there any notable changes in muscle mass, bone density, or cardiovascular health? #Technological #Integration: How well did the various technological systems (e.g., life support, communication, waste management) integrate and function over the year? Were there any critical technological failures or noteworthy innovations? #Autonomy and #Decision-#Making: Given the time delay in communication with Earth, how did you manage autonomous decision-making? Were there any critical decisions made independently that significantly impacted the mission? Scientific Experiments: What were the most significant scientific experiments conducted during the mission, and what were their outcomes? How do these findings contribute to our understanding of living and working on Mars? #Future #Missions: Based on your experiences, what recommendations would you make for the design and execution of future long-duration space missions? What aspects of the CHAPEA mission would you suggest refining or altering? These questions aim to explore the multifaceted aspects of living and working in a simulated Mars environment, providing valuable insights for future space exploration missions. If you have some answer DM me or leave a comment! Thanks! Erik https://lnkd.in/d-3jsCEX
ICYMI: Our CHAPEA 1 crew is home! After 378 days, the inaugural CHAPEA (Crew Health and Performance Exploration Analog) crew is “back on Earth” after walking out of their simulated Martian habitat at NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Johnson Space Center on July 6. The crew’s family, friends and JSC colleagues cheered as the four intrepid volunteers crossed earthside. This mission is critical to developing the knowledge and tools needed for humans to one day live and work on the Red Planet. Thank you, CHAPEA 1 crew! Panama and Austria signed the #ArtemisAccords at the NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration Headquarters in Washington recently and so became the 49th and 50th nations to commit to the responsible exploration of #space. In 2020, the United States, led by NASA with the U.S. Department of State, and seven other initial signatory nations established the Artemis Accords, identifying a set of principles promoting the beneficial use of space for humanity. The Artemis Accords are grounded in the Outer Space Treaty and other agreements including the Registration Convention, the Rescue and Return Agreement, as well as best practices and norms of responsible behaviour that NASA and its partners have supported, including the public release of scientific data. The accords are a voluntary commitment to engage in safe, transparent, responsible behaviour in space, and any nation that wants to commit to those values is welcome to sign.

Essential molecules to advance human progress
🚀 There is nothing quite like watching the successful launch of a spacecraft to make you appreciate what's possible when we work together with ingenuity and tenacity in the pursuit of excellence. Knowing that our Air Liquide teams played a part in the successful opening chapter of Boeing’s #Starliner era makes the launch even more inspiring! At Air Liquide, safety is our pursued first priority. We’ve shared our safety culture with NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration since the #Apollo missions in the 1970s, through the reliable supply of high-pressure nitrogen necessary for safe launches. As an inert gas, nitrogen purges the rockets to prevent a flammable environment, from before the fuel is loaded until the moment the rocket is launched. Our Merritt Island facility team, who have supported over 40 rocket launches for NASA and the U.S. Space Program in 2024 alone, prepared for a continuous 12 hours before the successful Starliner launch to deliver high-pressured nitrogen to the launch pad. Here on Earth or among the stars, our Air Liquide teams are dedicated to safely supporting our customers' needs, and advancing human progress in the process.
