Increasing biodiversity and reducing the risk of flooding at the same time 🌊 Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) are an efficient, affordable way to mitigate (slow down) stormwater runoff. 💦 Flooding is a common issue in many urban areas around the world. The increase in impermeable surfaces such as concrete, over which rainwater flows, causes large amounts of rainfall to build up very quickly, often overflowing our outdated drainage systems, which weren't designed to deal with the peak water flow caused by increased surface water run off. ⚠️ Using nature-based infrastructure allows water absorption into soil and plant roots, which help control the peak flow of water, reducing the strain on our infrastructure, and preventing flooding, infrastructure damage, and sewage spills. 🌱🌳 💻 Find out more about SuDS, as well as our planting picks for different systems, in our latest blog here: https://lnkd.in/eYaHiQM9

Rainwater harvesting at home holds significant importance for both environmental and personal reasons. It not only promotes sustainable water management by reducing dependence on mains water supply, but by capturing rainwater from rooftops or other surfaces, homeowners can utilize this free and abundant resource for various non-potable purposes such as watering gardens, flushing toilets, or even for laundry. Rainwater harvesting contributes to mitigating urban flooding and erosion by reducing runoff and replenishing groundwater levels. Harvesting at home represents a simple yet effective solution towards sustainable living and resilient water management practices. Here is an interesting read on how to easily harvest rainwater. #rainwaterharvesting #rainwater #savewater #waterconservation #savesoil #sustainability #sustainablefarming #aaryaorganics #aaryagroup #ecp #earthcareproject https://lnkd.in/gzTn26v4

Achieving water savings in non-household properties is more important than ever before. In fact, the UK Government recently outlined its target to reduce water consumption by 15% in non-household properties by 2050💧 Rainwater Harvesting is the best approach to achieving greater water efficiency within buildings. Systems offer a lasting piece of infrastructure that mitigates the need for a behaviour change amongst building users by replacing some mains water use with sustainable rainwater♻️ Getting the correct system style for your project is crucial to ensuring the long-term operation of the rainwater harvesting system. Here's a peak into our setting! Traditional wastewater treatment often involves sending water on a long journey to centralised facilities. This process can be energy-intensive and may not always guarantee the cleanest results. We're embracing a more sustainable approach: on-site wastewater treatment! Imagine a system that transforms used water right where it's generated, minimising waste and maximising resourcefulness. Here's how on-site treatment benefits you and the environment: -Reduced Water Footprint: Treated wastewater can be reused for irrigation, cleaning or toilet flushing, significantly lowering your overall water consumption. -Eco-Friendly Impact: By minimising reliance on centralised treatment plants and long-distance water transportation, you're reducing your carbon footprint and contributing to a greener future. -Cost-Effectiveness: On-site treatment systems can be surprisingly cost-efficient in the long run, especially when considering potential savings on water bills and sewer charges. -Peace of Mind: Knowing exactly how your wastewater is treated and reused fosters a sense of environmental responsibility and self-sufficiency. On-site wastewater treatment is a powerful tool for living a sustainable lifestyle. It allows you to conserve precious resources, reduce your environmental footprint, and create a more closed-loop water system. P.S.: If you have questions about on-site wastewater treatment? You may have come across the expression #spongecity recently. But what does it actually mean? A sponge city is designed to use #rainwater to cool and irrigate urban greenery. It holds rainwater, purifies it, and distributes it to where it's needed most, like to trees that offer shade and cool the air. 🌳💦 At ACO Group, water is at the heart of everything we do. As a water-tech company, we are dedicated to creating solutions that help cities adapt to climate change and improve the quality of life for their residents. Through the #ACOWaterCycle🔄, we collect, clean, hold, and reuse water, supporting urban greenery, naturally cooling cities, and reducing the risk of flooding. 🌍Together, we're building a better, water-smart future for all.
