Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the London office opening of VaynerMedia and meet the legendary Gary Vaynerchuk in person. What struck me most was his contagious energy and genuine passion for helping others succeed. Despite his immense fame and packed schedule, he also took the time to connect with people, listen to pitches, answer questions, and share invaluable advice. His dedication to providing value both on and off-screen is truly quite remarkable. From following his content over the years, there are a few lessons I’ve learnt and it was great to hear them re-iterated last week. 1) Obsess over providing ridiculous value, not gathering vanity metrics. ✨ 2) Don't rely on luck – put in the work and grind until you've made your own luck. 💪 3) Build a personal brand around your authentic self and what you care about. 🎤 Success demands an unstoppable drive, a relentless commitment to creating value, and the conviction to stay true to yourself. Put in the hard work, persevere, and seize every opportunity. That's how aspirations become achievements. 🚀

I was a Theater major in undergrad and people who see me give talks or presentations will sometimes say my comfort level onstage is a superpower for someone in my role in B2B. But it's not my most important power... The real skill I learned onstage was the ability to quickly shift perspectives. Playing a character means you have to be able to shift your point of view from you (as the actor) to a different you (as the character). Not being "locked in" to either the perspective of the actor or the role is really important to understanding the character and manifesting them in as realistic a manner as possible. But guess what!? It's *also* useful in #b2becommerce! When we create a digital experience, usually we are creating one that has to serve a lot of different roles across different customers in different industries all trying to solve different problems. And if you spend all your time thinking about only your own personal perspective, you are doing to miss things that will irritate buyers across your broader customer base. It's a much better thing to be flexible, to pause and think about what other roles you can play as you are planning, building, evaluating, or refining your digital experience. Maybe it's time to convince your boss to pay for those improv classes you were looking at doing this summer...your digital business will only benefit!

Who said that a conference can't be fun? We had great pleasure and lots of fun while planning this year's annual CX Circle by Contentsquare. The goal, as always, was to elevate the past year's experiences, and we did just that! It is a pure joy to work with a creative and open-minded client who always strives to achieve more and impress their audience with inspiring content, innovative ideas, and great fun. CX Circle London 2024 was a prime example of how to "Level up Your Game." This success would not have been possible without the outstanding team working on this project with me! Thanks to everyone who made it such a memorable event: Joanna Dibley, Jessmi Rodrigues, Jack Turner, Nadja Zachary, Lauren Reed, Dave Payne James New, The Brewery on Chiswell Street, Encore, Blank Canvas Entertainment, RefTech, HeadBox, and all other suppliers and partners on the project. Amazing work everyone, and I can't wait for next year. #eventsplanner #projectmanagement

✨ Meet Ash, our business development expert extraordinaire hailing from the bustling hub of Pictureworks in Singapore! With a keen eye for opportunities and a knack for forging fruitful partnerships, Ash is your go-to person for all things growth-related! 1️⃣ : Can you share a bit about your background and what is it that you do at Pictureworks? Ash: Hey there! It's been quite the adventure – this marks my fifth year with Pictureworks. Initially, my focus was on operations integration and management. But since rejoining in June 2023, I've shifted gears to business development. 2️⃣ : What inspired you to join our team at PictureWorks? Ash: Let me whisk you away on a jaunt down memory lane. Back in my undergrad days, I was a part-time photographer with PW. There, I glimpsed the tight-knit PW family – always there for each other, no matter the curveballs life threw our way. 3️⃣ : What do you enjoy most about working in the tech industry, and how does that passion drive your work? Ash: You'll likely find me prepping for a scuba dive in the majestic Galapagos, ready to plunge into the depths and rub fins with some fin-tastic sharks and maybe even some majestic whales! #pictureworksteam #employeeinterviews #holistic

🌿 As the week winds down, I’m reflecting on all the achievements we’ve had at Lightfarm Studios these past few days. I just returned from a 20-day trip, and to be honest, at first, I wasn’t exactly excited to get back to work. Stepping back into my role was really nice, but made me realize how much I needed that offline time - which wouldn't be possible without the support of my team. I came back more inspired, more determined, and more energized to push forward with my team. Being a producer in advertising has its challenges, but stepping into a leadership role brought me face-to-face with the most rewarding—and difficult—tasks of my career. It’s not just about managing workflows and hitting deadlines; it’s about people—their aspirations, personal goals, and creating an environment where they can truly thrive. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that listening isn’t enough. Often, people are so used to not being asked about their future that they don’t even know how to articulate their goals. I remember asking one of my team members what they wanted to do next, and they were genuinely surprised. They weren’t used to having someone invest in their growth like that. So, I’ve made it a point to not only listen but encourage my team to think bigger, to challenge themselves, and to explore their own potential. Looking back, I couldn’t be prouder of the growth and independence my team of producers has shown. While I was on vacation, I didn’t have to worry—they handled everything, collaborated, and solved problems like pros. That is why I would like to extend an special highlight for them today. Many thanks, team! 💕 Stefanie Dias + Naire Cardoso + Maria Clara Servan + Mari Suzuki Alexandrina Carneiro dos Santos + Mariana Araujo Alves + Beatriz Sant'Anna + Karen Maia + Lorrana Moreira + Caroline Vallaperde + Raphael Barbanjo + Thaiane Lima + Carine Caz 🤩 ✨ #Leadership #TeamDevelopment #ProducerLife #CreativeLeadership #TeamWork #CareerGrowth #AdvertisingProduction #ProjectManagement #Collaboration #EmpowerYourTeam

Huge shoutout to Summer, our DEI intern! 🌟 Their passion for creating a more inclusive workplace is inspiring. We’re so grateful for their fresh perspective and contributions to our team. I am so proud of our Level Up Series. Each quarter, we host a broadcast with one of our top leaders and they share their career journey, obstacles, and they're why. We do this because mentorship and networking don't just have to happen formally. It's the informal networks we're trying to curate for our employees who may not know how to break through those invisible barriers that unlock the keys to professional advancement and growth. Folks from underrepsented groups are less likely to be mentored within corporate cultures due to imposter syndrome, lack of visibility, or absence of sponsorship. Our series aims to break down those barriers by bringing our leaders into the everyday workspaces of our employees and having some courageous conversations. Can't wait to host our next one in Chicago at McCormick Place! We're planning for another ERG Takeover and Level Up. Big thanks to Crystal Davidson, MS.Ed. and all of our amazing ERG leads for making this an incredible day.
Get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at our Level Up event, hosted by our DEI Team in Austin, TX, at Moody Center ATX! 🎥 Our #OVGSummerIntern, Summer, takes you through the experience on our BRAND NEW TikTok page. "I wish every creative gets to experience what we experienced. I wish more jury rooms make space for young creatives like us. And like Susan said, I wish more of us do the kind of work that makes people say, ‘Thank you’. To sum up my experience at LIA, I would like to quote one of my favourite songwriter Taylor Swift – It was rare. I was there. I remember it, all too well." - Udit Joshi Read more about Udit's Creative LIAisons experience!

"LIA makes room (Literally. They housed us at a fancy hotel) not just for the leaders who’ve made it to the finish line, but also for the ones just starting out in their careers. Nothing and no one around could prepare me for what was in store during the Creative LIAisons program, because an opportunity like this is rare." I am about to take off on my flight to Walt Disney World for spring break with my kiddos. I spent a lot of the week making lists upon lists for while I’m out. For the dog sitter, for clients, for work, for my future self. Wondering if this is a “good time” for this trip. We have 2 clients with acquisitions pending and one finalized last week; our flagship research out; 3 reports, packaging project and market alignments in process plus we are launching WorkTechCircle in two weeks and building out our new practioner facing website so I’m managing the dev team. But that’s just how work is. That’s just how life is. It’s busy. It’s messy. It’s everything all at once and all the time. Vacations are never at “convenient” times when you’re growing a business or leading a team; but they are always exactly when you need them most. If you haven’t booked time off this year - even to just stay home and rest your mind, here is your reminder to set time aside. The work will be there when you are back. (PS - I’m going to *try* not to respond to messages while I’m out so expect delays)
