Do you also have a lunch break alarm that you mostly ignore when you are in the middle of a task? Why don't you start calling it Mental Health Break instead. Focus on what you want to achieve rather than what you do with this break. It is for you to rest and rejuvenate, ready for a more focused PM. Your mental health is important, and a sandwich on your desk will not help it. Think about what actions would relax you the most. And remember to eat as well :)

Prioritizing your mental health is crucial for leading a healthy and fulfilling life. Mental health includes emotional, psychological, and social well-being, and it affects how you think, feel, and behave. Without good mental health, it can be difficult to manage daily stressors and challenges, which can lead to negative consequences in all areas of life. Seeking support when needed can involve talking to a therapist or counselor, reaching out to friends and family, or joining a support group. Seeking support can help you learn coping skills, gain insight into your thoughts and behaviors, and develop a support network. New Blog: Knowing When To Seek Help For Your Mental Health 💛 Our mental health can be complicated, often shifting and changing, making it hard to know when it crosses the line from okay to not okay. Take a moment to think of a time where you felt most like yourself; settled, happy, focused, etc. and call this the baseline or, essentially, “normal”. We are all unique and this is why we need to establish what our own baseline feels like. This allows us to see when our mental health may be declining to the point where we may need to reach out for help. Learn more: lilstepswellness.com/blog. 💻

Prevention is always better than cure. Taking small steps to maintain robust mental health should not viewed as a luxury or a treat - or worse still, only thought of when it is almost too late. Practicing daily self-care can help you to manage stress and anxiety, while reducing susceptibility to poor mental health. It also helps us when we are in the throes of an all too familiar episode. On which note, I'm off to the gym to keep my ADH"D" on tip-top form! What are you doing to safeguard your mental health today?

Your mental health is just as important as any other aspect of your life! Remember to take care of yourself and put your well-being first. As someone who often prioritises making others happy, I've learned that it's okay to focus on myself and not feel guilty about it. Let's all encourage each other to prioritise our mental health and make time for self-care. Don't be afraid to take a break from work if you need it, and remember that it's okay to say no to things that don't serve your well-being. Remember, work will always be there but your mental health should always come first. Take care of yourself and encourage others to do the same! 🩵🩵
