Are You Ready to be a Mentee? In any mentoring partnership, the mentor and mentee both share responsibility for ensuring the partnership is effective. Their roles may be slightly different, but they are both equally important in making the mentoring a success. Before you start a mentoring relationship, attempt the quiz to evaluate if you are ready to engage in a mentoring relationship as a mentee. #mentoringprogram InternPark Connect #mentee iyer ramesh Ganesh Sonia Wadhwa Rajeshree Naik Chetna Munshi Amit Jambhekar Rajesh Ahuja Minal Ashar Dheeraj Sinha

Happy #NationalMentoringMonth! Mentorship is an important aspect of helping our staff to thrive at EA. Our full-time staff can participate in our mentorship program either as a mentor or a mentee, and each intern is assigned a mentor who provides one-on-one support, answers their questions, and helps them develop or hone skills like time management. Mahnur Khalid, one of our 2023 Analyst Interns, shared about her mentorship experience at EA: "I've been able to learn better time management skills, understand the culture of a professional workspace, gain independence and understanding within my schedule, and learn how to lead my own research and analysis." Have you ever mentored or benefitted from mentorship? Share your experience - and tag your mentor or mentee in the comment section below!

It's likely that you benefited from the advice of other experts if you've had professional success. It's possible that a relationship you had in college helped you get introduced to your first internship.

I have shared this razor sharp post by Mark Horoszowski before and as we get ready to welcome our next cohorts of our structured internship and mentorship programs, I would like to share it again. I'd also like to explicitly highlight the fact that mentorship is not always structured and formal. It is in fact, as structured and as informal as a mentee would like it to be. The truth is that the entire concept of mentorship in any field is terribly undermined. As Mark quotes in this article - "People with mentors perform better, advance in their careers faster, and even experience more work-life satisfaction. And mentors benefit, too. After all, “to teach is to learn twice.” Despite all these benefits, and even though 76% of working professionals believe that a mentor is important to growth, more than 54% do not have such a relationship." I for one have been extremely lucky in this department. I have exceptional mentors and the list keep growing. This was precisely the reason behind starting the LOCS Online Legal Mentorship Program, to hold the door open for anyone who chooses to enter. Having said that, this article has the most succinct list of actionable steps one can take to get clarity about their path first and then approach an expert to be their mentor. And then nurture that relationship. #mentorship #mentorshipmatters
