🌍✨ Making Tomorrow Brighter: Our Collective Mission ✨🌍 As I reflect on the incredible journey that has taken me from the vibrant stages of Sustainability Live 2024 to the impactful dialogues on various global platforms, I'm filled with a profound sense of responsibility and hope. Our conversations about sustainability, innovation, and the future we're building together have never been more critical. Next, I'm thrilled to announce my upcoming engagement at KEYNOTION's Smart #Manufacturing Summit in Stuttgart, Germany, in the first week of April. This event represents another remarkable opportunity to drive home our key message, a message that resonates deeply with every fiber of my being: We must not become the bad grandparents of tomorrow. The responsibility of leaving a thriving planet for our children and their children rests squarely on our shoulders. It's a mantle we must carry with the utmost seriousness and commitment. The buck stops with us. But how do we translate this #responsibility into action? How do we ensure that our efforts today are not just gestures, but impactful, lasting changes? I believe the answer lies in our ability to embrace innovative solutions that lead us towards a sustainable future. At the #summit, I'll be sharing insights into our sustainability-focused execution vehicle—an initiative that promises organizations the most efficient path to achieving their sustainability goals. This isn't just about reducing footprints or enhancing green practices; it's about integrating #sustainability into the very core of our operations, making it the default rather than the exception. Our children, and their children, deserve to inherit a world that's not only survivable but thriving. A world where the air is clean, the water is clear, and biodiversity flourishes. This vision is achievable, but it requires more than just hope. It demands action, #innovation, and the collective will to make a difference. We are proud to share an update on our sustainability performance with today’s global celebration of Earth Day, and highlight the progress we have made towards our ambitious Better Places targets!   ENVIRONMENTAL TRANSITION - In 2023 we reduced our Scopes 1 & 2 carbon emissions by -81% compared to -71% in 2022, on track to meet our target of -90% by 2030. We have also reduced our energy intensity by -30%, compared to -14% in 2022, advancing towards our target of -50% by 2030. We have also increased our ability to generate installed renewable energy at our assets to 23.8 MWp.   SUSTAINABLE EXPERIENCE - In the last year we have applied our Sustainable Retail Index to our Fashion retailers, covering 57% of our eligible revenues, and this year we are expanding its application to the Health & Beauty sector. In 2023, we launched the Westfield Good Festival, and this Spring will expand the event to all Westfield destinations in Europe and the US. And, with all of this activity, we are also rolling out our Better Places Certification to our first set of 10 assets in 2024!   THRIVING COMMUNITIES - Our URW for Jobs initiative helped 2,600 people to find jobs, contributing to our broader target of supporting 15,000 people annually through training, social inclusion and employment opportunities.
