Imperial Supplies would like to spotlight Noah Henchen. Noah joined Imperial Supplies in the Spring term of 2022 as an eCommerce Intern. He was hired as a full-time eCommerce Merchandising Specialist in May of 2022. Noah was interviewed for this spotlight and was asked the following questions: How did your time at UWGB prepare you for your career here at Imperial Supplies? "UWGB helped prepare me by having courses that challenged me to think outside of the box and expand my knowledge in different areas of business. My professors were always pushing me to be the best version of myself and these challenges in the classroom have helped shape me in my career at Imperial. Additionally, the Career Services staff at UWGB helped immensely in finding internship opportunities, crafting a resume, and hosting guest speakers/panels to further my education in the business world. Throughout my time at UWGB I was able to meet so many different people with different backgrounds that allowed me to gain a better understanding of how to succeed at Imperial Supplies." What was the most impactful experience you can recall from your internship here at Imperial? "The most impactful experience of my internship at Imperial was that I was able to be immersed in so many different departments within the organization. Throughout the internship I was able to gain a better understanding of the whole Digital Marketing / Ecommerce space, and how each department goes hand in hand in building a successful business." Do you have any advice for those still in school right now to prepare them for the next phase in their lives in the professional world? "The biggest piece of advice I could give a current student is to step out of your comfort zone and take chances. Working in the professional world is all about stepping out of your comfort zone and challenging yourself to better yourself, as well as the business. If you’re still a student stepping out of your comfort zone could include, joining a new club, applying for internships, or even networking." The internship has been going well. I have been able to participate in various tasks, and sit in on meetings within my department. The tools that I am learning from Aspire I look forward to bringing them back to my team. What has been the biggest takeaway from the internship for you? During my internship, I have gained several key takeaways that have significantly impacted my professional growth. The first is the connections you make during your internship could be the foundations of your professional network later in your career, it also helps to put a face with the name. As an intern with no professional experience in Planning & Allocation, I have made mistakes. One major thing I learned is that when I make a mistake or am unsure about something, I need to own up to it and ask questions to improve. The most important thing that I learned during my internship is to always pay attention to detail. This is not only an important thing to do in Planning & Allocation but in everything you do. Paying attention to detail helps minimize any simple mistakes. It’s a very simple thing that doesn’t require any skills just to focus and pay attention. Greetings Everyone, I hope you all are doing well and fine. Recently this very last month I completed my two-month summer internship as a Business Development Intern within the sub-domain of Sales and Marketing at Haldiram Foods International Ltd. I worked directly under Mr Adeesh Jain and Ms Gunjan Tapase who acted as the utmost guiding support throughout my tenure. As I reach the end of my internship, I realise that it is only best if I share my learnings and my experience that I took along with me. Therefore, following are some learnings I gained through my summer internship: 1) Excess Planning results in Consequences: During my tenure I were to prepare a sales pitch as I was working directly with our clients. It was only after I conducted a couple of cold calls that I realised there isn’t a script that works with clients in sales, you learn, analyse and adapt with each call you conduct as to what to say and how to take the call forward. 2) Excel is the King: Though I had partly understood how essential excel is in the corporate during my last internship but this internship harnessed on that same ideology as to how you work about 80 percent around the excel as an intern at any organisation of any industry. 3) Know your Client by being in his Shoe: Understanding your client is extremely vital not only in sales but in any domain of an organisation. You cannot just pitch yourself or your brand to a person and expect them to obey. The business-consumer environment we live in just does not work that way. 4) Create your own Work Ethic and abide by it: People in the corporate are extremely professional with handling their business and personal matters separately. Though you may be just an intern but building a work ethic of your own would result in a smooth pathway as to when you join any organisation particularly as an employee.
