If you need some good news this week, we have a story for you. 👇 This is Lucky, the kitten rescued from I-15, with her new family. Last week on our Facebook page, we shared the story of Lucky, the kitten who found herself in a dangerous spot on the inside shoulder of I-15 in Salt Lake County. When our bridge repair crew noticed her, they called in UHP to slow down traffic, allowing them to safely rescue her from the busy freeway. One of the crew members couldn't resist taking Lucky home and making her a part of his family. We stopped by the Gonzales’ house to see how Lucky is faring and she’s definitely thriving. Now, she spends her days playing with three kiddos, a dog, and even a turtle. It’s safe to say Lucky’s living up to her name. HEPA Filters can filter out certain things (it's in the name), but they CANNOT alter the actual makeup of the air in the room like My Triad Aer can! We do not use filters at all, but through Lysis, Photocatalytic Oxidation, Ionization, and some other technologies, we transform the air, just like nature does. When a family member, human or animal, is lost, becomes ill, or dies, it affects the whole family. Effectively supporting the grief process in the surviving pack members allows the pack to move forward. Animals display grief in a manner similar to humans. Aspects of their personality may change for a period time. We're surrounded by Nature yet we sometimes fail to see the similarities displayed between humans and animals. People have emotional support pets to help them deal with Depression, Anxiety and Pain in a way that they may not be able to express to their families/partners. This video is to provide you with a different perspective on Grief and how to deal with losing a loved one. We hope you enjoy it and helps you in a way that one wouldn't expect. https://lnkd.in/ggmskWbt

Su-paw-ting older South Australians to care for their furry companions An innovative pilot program that provided support to help older people care for their companion animals, has resulted in participants experiencing significantly improved physical and mental health, and reduce loneliness and social isolation. Safe Pets Safe Families was awarded a $40,000 Positive Ageing Fellowship last year through the Office for Ageing Well, to run the Paws with Friends pilot. The program, which ran over a 12-month period, offered tailored animal-focussed services delivered by volunteers, such as dog walking, vet trips, respite and grooming, alongside human services such as connection between the older person and volunteers. More than 1,100 services were offered during the pilot, to support 12 women and five men, with their animal companions including dogs, cats and birds. Of the 17 older people who participated, almost all had complex medical conditions, 12 had disability, three had experienced family breakdown, nine had reported feeling social isolated, four had been impacted by domestic and family violence, 10 experienced financial hardship and two were at risk of homelessness. Paws with Friends remains in operation and is seeking further funding to sustain the resounding success of its first year. As much as possible, Safe Pets Safe Families utilises its dedicated volunteer pool – all outreach workers are volunteers - but there is a need for paid project coordination, including oversight of volunteer caseworkers. Program volunteers and clients have expressed that it is evident the program is not just there for the wellbeing of pets, it is for the wellbeing of older people too. Several clients have reported improvements in mental health and social connection, resulting in an even greater appreciation for the comfort brought by their pets, as well as a sense of being part of the community.

As The Sato Project prepares for a big Freedom Flight this Sunday, I wanted to share something very special with you. Today we are launching a new campaign called #WeCantRescueOurWayOutOfThis - and with that campaign comes a startling, intimate look at the reality of the stray dog overpopulation crisis in #PuertoRico today. The island is now facing a public health crisis and we're on the brink of a situation we've never seen before in the history of our organization. I started rescuing in 2007, and my experience has prepared me for many challenges, but nothing like this. I made this video to give you a behind-the-scenes look at how we are addressing this issue systemically rather than by our old model of rescuing one dog at a time. Friends and followers like you have been a crucial part of our #SatoStrong community, helping us rescue thousands of dogs through Spayathons, Mission Possibles, and even in the midst of natural disasters like Hurricane Maria, Irma, and Fiona. But as the hurricanes worsen, adoptions plummet, and prices on the island surge, our backs are against the wall. We're facing a new type of storm. With 650,000 stray dogs roaming the streets and beaches of #PuertoRico, one dog at a time won't cut it. We can't rescue our way out of this. Operation Sato - a groundbreaking initiative that combines mass spay/neuter clinics with our rescue efforts is our solution. I call it our one-two punch approach. As you just watched, every patient that attends these events receives over $600+ in crucial medical services, including a surgical sterilization, vaccinations, microchip, preventatives, and testing for blood-borne illnesses. We urgently need to raise $150,000 by the end of September to continue providing these services to satos in need. Thanks to generous partners, every dollar raised this month up to $75,000 will be matched - doubling your impact. If you do anything today, watch this video, share it, post it. Please visit our website to make a matched contribution now. Your immediate action can save countless lives, and will directly reduce the suffering for more than half a million defenseless animals who cannot advocate for themselves. Thank you for giving what you can. Every dollar saves lives. Urgently and gratefully, Chrissy Beckles President & Founder The Sato Project www.thesatoproject.org https://bit.ly/3Xoxz2x

This flight was an emotional one. My first flight without Jax. Going anywhere without a service animal/human after 10 years is an unfortunate reality for me, as it takes 2 years to train a service dog and my ex took my Schnauzer in the breakup we were training, knowing Jax was getting old and needed to retire. So, if you see me around, getting back to travel for work again, look out for me. If you see someone having a seizure, here are some tips to help: 1. Stay calm and time the seizure. 2. Move objects away that could cause injury. 3. Cushion their head and turn them on their side. 4. Do not restrain them or put anything in their mouth. 5. Stay with them until they are fully alert. Your awareness and kindness can make a world of difference. Love this community, ‘cause I know some of you even got certified for me. 🫶 #epilepsyawareness #servicedog #jaxtax #worktravel
