Here's how I evaluate #LLMs to see how useful are they in solving some real world problem/requirement. Test them with appointment booking. Here the LLM acts as a receptionist. The customer calls in. Based on the customer's requirement and availability, LLM should fix an appointment. As in the real case, there will be few twists and turns. It needs to consider few things. Be mindful of the hospital's operational hours: available Monday to Friday from 8am to 7pm. Here's the table of departments, doctors and their availability days and times in each week. Reading “The Checklist Manifesto" for the first time was a revelation, but it’s been something I revisit often and have found to be very useful to reflect on. The simple yet powerful concept is applicable now more than ever, especially when it comes to optimizing workflows in the age of AI. Initially, the idea of using checklists for even the most mundane tasks might seem excessive. However, it's during this exercise that inefficiencies become glaringly apparent. We often overestimate our ability to seamlessly jump back into tasks without losing workflow optimization insights gained from previous runs. But by diligently following checklists, we provide our future selves with a solid foundation for each subsequent task iteration. Moreover, detailing working steps isn't just useful; it's essential. While AI agents are powerful, the multitude of approaches to tasks means that deep specificity in each process is crucial for achieving consistent results. By meticulously documenting our processes, we not only streamline our own workflows but also empower AI systems to deliver reliable outcomes. It's about recognizing that every detail matters and ensuring that each action contributes to a smoother, more efficient operation. The researchers found that using either of these AI algorithms improved accuracy for both dermatologists (up to 60 percent) and general practitioners (up to 47 percent). They also found that doctors were more likely to take suggestions from the higher-accuracy algorithm after it provided a few correct answers, but they rarely incorporated AI suggestions that were incorrect. This suggests that the doctors are highly skilled at ruling out diseases and won’t take AI suggestions for a disease they have already ruled out, Groh says. “They’re pretty good at not taking AI advice when the AI is wrong and the physicians are right.
