Significant experience advancing patient-centric digital innovation and transformation in the healthcare industry
It is always exciting to see a new research getting published when you had some small part in making it happen. This Time, thanks to Dr. Motti Haimi, MD, PhD, MHA it is about telemedicine adoption among the elderly in Israel, and I'm excited to share some key insights and opportunities the research uncovered. While most elderly participants recognized the benefits of telemedicine, such as improved accessibility and reduced COVID-19 exposure, they also highlighted several barriers impeding adoption: ✔️ Intrinsic barriers: Lack of confidence in quality of online consultations, preference for in-person interactions, technological difficulties, physiological and literacy challenges ✔️ Extrinsic barriers: Limited technology access and unfriendly platforms from the healthcare system However, The research also underscored telemedicine's unique opportunities for this population: 🤝 Providing social/mental support, especially crucial during isolation periods 🏠 Enabling continuity of care through regular remote monitoring for chronic conditions 😷 Ensuring care provision while minimizing viral exposure, as proven vital during COVID-19 To leverage these opportunities, we must address barriers through: 📝 Simplifying infrastructure with senior-friendly platforms 📚 Providing training by medical staff and informational materials 👪 Involving caregivers for technological assistance As you all already know, I'm passionate about implementing patient-centric digital solutions. This study reinforces my belief that by understanding the patient needs (in this case the elderly patients), we can bridge the digital divide and ensure equitable and useful virtual care access. link to the full article -> https://lnkd.in/dvvRv6BB #Telemedicine #DigitalHealth #AgedCare #HealthcareInnovation #PatientCentric

Thank you for your continuous support and cooperation 🌷🎖
Thanks for sharing! Always great to see publications from here making waves and placed in great journels. Elderly isolation will be a routine problem more and more, so pandemic or no pandemic, it's a really important point you're making here.
Congratulations on the publication of this insightful research! Dr. Motti Haimi's study underscores the potential of telemedicine in enhancing elderly care, while also highlighting the challenges that need to be addressed.
