Congratulations to the members of our UPMC Hillman Cancer Centre team who participated in the Waterford Viking Marathon at the weekend. Their efforts supported SERT, a dedicated volunteer-based transport service operating across the South East of Ireland. SERT's vehicles provide essential door-to-door and pick-up point transportation for patients undergoing radiotherapy, ensuring they can travel to and from the hospital with ease. SERT currently serves communities in Waterford City, Clonmel, Dungarvan, Kilkenny, Wexford, and South Tipperary, providing crucial transportation to UPMC's Hillman Cancer Centre in Waterford.

STUDY UPDATE ‼️ - Last week, Amsterdam UMC had their study initiation visit and enrolled their first 3 patients for the NVALT31-PET study. - A total of 22 sites are now open for inclusion! ▪️NVALT31-PET study The study aims to compare the effectiveness of additional 18F FDG PET/CT versus conventional CT surveillance in the follow-up of stage III NSCLC patients. A great collaboration between Radboudumc (PI Iris Walraven ) and Amsterdam UMC (PI Annemarie Becker ) as joint sponsors with many hospitals across the Netherlands participating, harnessing the power of teamwork in advancing the quality of care. Last week I attended this Innovation Series Seminar! I am really happy for what NUNO Prego Ramos has achieved! Also, this success story is an inspiration for biotech projects from Portugal! The quality of the content was huge, but I will highlight: 1) Aim for something bigger than ourselves; 2) Negative experiences give you lessons to learn; 3) Manage people with transparency.
