An MRI can help save lives!
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted De Novo approval for BrainSee, a software platform that may predict up to a five-year progression of amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI) to Alzheimer’s dementia, based on a combined artificial intelligence (AI) assessment of brain MRI and cognitive assessments. Through the aforementioned combination, BrainSee generates an automated score that notes the likelihood of progression from aMCI to Alzheimer’s dementia, according to Darmiyan, Inc., the developer of the software platform. Darmiyan emphasized that for patients with aMCI deemed to be at high risk for developing Alzheimer’s dementia within five years, the predictive screening capability afforded by BrainSee may facilitate personalized treatment. For those deemed to be at lower risk of Alzheimer’s dementia progression, the non-invasive BrainSee risk stratification may decrease patient anxiety as well as costs of more invasive tests, according to Darmiyan. "Our vision is to redefine brain health screening and monitoring standards and impact the lives of patients and their family members in a meaningful way,” noted Padideh Kamali-Zare, Ph.D., the founder and CEO of Darmiyan. “BrainSee is the first product of this vision, backed by our solid technological infrastructure that is capable of driving further transformations and scalable innovations in the brain health landscape.” An MRI can help save lives! ☎️ 954-905-7217 #floridakeys #plantation #floridalife #tampa #radiology #radiologist #radiographer #imaging #imagingcenter #medicalimaging #alzheimer #Dementia #medicalresearch #innovation #brainmri

Tivic Health Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: TIVC), a pioneer in bioelectronic medicine, consistently demonstrates its commitment to advancing medical technology through rigorous research and innovative practices. In a collaborative effort with The Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research at Northwell Health, Tivic Health has substantiated the effectiveness of its proprietary non-invasive cervical vagus nerve stimulation (ncVNS) method. This technology, designed to elicit responses across the autonomic, cardiac, and central nervous systems, holds promising implications for the treatment of multiple significant diseases. Further details from the pilot study reveal Tivic Health's ncVNS approach resulted in a remarkable 97% increase in heart rate variability, alongside notable enhancements in brain activity metrics, such as a 24% rise in frontal theta power and a 66% reduction in frontal gamma power. Such findings not only underscore the potential of ncVNS in treatment of medical conditions but also reaffirm Tivic Health's role at the forefront of non-invasive medical solutions. This commitment is echoed by Tivic Health’s leadership, with Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. Blake Gurfein, PhD, noting the considerable impact of these results on future product development and market strategies. Medialis Ltd are proud to present our latest publication: "Real-world service costs for neovascular-AMD clinics in the United Kingdom: Structured literature review and scenario analysis" in Current Medical Research & Opinions Real-world Evidence section Key Highlights: • Innovative Use of Neutral Theory & Jandhyala Method: We leveraged these advanced methodologies to develop the nAMD Service Non-Drug Cost Instrument (nAS), providing groundbreaking evidence for the inclusion of non-drug costs in cost-effectiveness assessments. • Comprehensive Analysis: Our study identified and analyzed 237 real-world non-drug service cost items, of which 217 met the consensus threshold and were included in the nAS. • Impact on Cost-Effectiveness Assessments: Findings revealed that current Health Technology Assessments (HTA) underestimate the true cost burden of UK NHS nAMD clinics. Our scenario analysis estimated annual per-patient clinic costs ranging from £845 to £13960, highlighting the substantial additional expenses due to operational strain. • Relevance to Policy & Practice: This research underscores the need to consider non-drug costs, particularly under strain conditions, in the cost-effectiveness evaluations of anti-VEGF treatments for nAMD. Durability and robustness of treatments emerge as crucial factors in these assessments. Conclusion: The inclusion of non-drug costs in CEA is essential for a more accurate representation of the financial burden on healthcare services. This study marks a significant step towards more comprehensive and realistic economic evaluations in ophthalmology.
