Lori Weems, MS, Program Manager Social & Racial Justice/Health Equity, Community Care Behavioral Health Organization, Care Behavioral was recently honored by the @Association of Community Affiliated Plans (ACAP) with the “Making a Difference” Award. Ms. Weems received an Honorable Mention out of 80 contenders this year. “We believe that your work also very much reflects the UPMC Health Plan’s community-based values and our commitment to addressing health equity in meaningful ways," according to a UPMC Health Plan statement. “Your guidance, passion, and hard work have helped the Our HAIR (Health Access Initiative for Recovery effort make such a difference for our members.” Ms. Weems says, “It is an honor and a privilege to receive this award for simply doing what I am passionate about. But more importantly, I am honored to be able to be a part of this vital work to tear down the stigma around behavioral health one conversation at a time.” #changemaker #stopthestigma
