On Truth and Reconciliation Day, we’re reminded of the work that still needs to be done to address the injustices faced by Indigenous peoples in Canada. This day serves as a moment of reflection and a call to action to support the healing and empowerment of Indigenous communities. At CoHost, we believe that reconciliation is an ongoing journey—one that requires active listening, continuous learning, and a commitment to making a difference. It’s a collective responsibility that begins with recognizing the truths of our shared history and taking steps toward addressing the wrongs of the past. Each year, September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in Canada. The day honours the children who never returned home and survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. Public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process. This day reminds us that reconciliation is a continuous effort, not just a one-day event. It's a call to engage in ongoing learning and understanding, an action to support Indigenous communities and honour their experiences. Let this day inspire us to keep working towards a more inclusive future. #EveryChildMatters #OrangeShirtDay #Reconciliation #IndigenousRights #SupportIndigenousCommunities #TruthandReconcilliation

With campaigning ahead of the 4th July General Election now in full swing, Calm Mediation's CEO Ed Procter explores the role that well funded community Mediation schemes could play in addressing the problem facing all political parties. How do we improve standards of living and balance the public finances without increasing the tax burden of low to middle income workers? What if community mediation was a big answer to the problem of spending less and delivering more? Here is Calm Mediation's five point Pledge Card for how modest investment in community mediation can help to decrease public expenditure, empower citizens to become more resilient and self-reliant and improve mental health and wellbeing. https://lnkd.in/eURfQwxe

I had the opportunity to collaborate on this highly interesting project in it's initial phase. Trying to provide a solid theoretical framework firmly embedded in international standards but also "translated" into the local reality. I think it turned out fine... #lebanon #socialeconomy #socialenterprise
In challenging times it’s sometimes difficult to see the beauty around us, to find hope and inspiration where we have the tendency to see only problems. I was lucky because through 3 years and a half of #SEEChange I’ve got the chance to find a lot of beauty in people, places and ideas in one country that I consider home. This is a visual testimony of the journey we co-created together in the #SJIP Social Justice Incubation Program and of the people who made it real. SEE Change is a project funded by the European Commission and developed by COSV - Coordinamento delle Organizzazioni per il Servizio Volontario, Oxfam in Lebanon and Beyond Group Grateful for the journey and for all the amazing people who made it possible and for the energy they are constantly putting on moving #Lebanon forward, no matter what and especially with the idea of leaving no one behind. 🙏 https://lnkd.in/dmUtUagj
