#MentalHealthAwarenessMonth is over, but the conversation around mental health isn’t! Reflecting on Mental Health Awareness Month in May, Barbara DiGangi, LMSW, SIFI – our Director of Community Wellness Initiatives at University Settlement – has written an article on the complexities of promoting mental health. She discusses the impact of socioeconomic factors and the challenges of accessing mental health services, highlighting that while individual self-care is a good thing, there is still a critical need for systemic change to address broader issues of equity in mental healthcare. Curious about how we can promote community care and mental health equity? Read the full article at https://buff.ly/3RgUR70 #NYCisUS

I am encouraged by the ideas presented during yesterday's parliamentary motion on calling for a whole-of-Singapore effort to implement a national strategy to enhance mental health and well-being. The rich dialogue and the insights shared by fellow members of parliament highlighted the need to prioritise mental health as part of our national strategy as it is an integral part of our collective wellbeing. Leadership commitment to mental health sets a powerful precedent and is pivotal in shaping an inclusive, compassionate, and progressive corporate environment. It indeed all starts at the top. Our advocacy can influence industry standards that may lead to impactful policy shifts and set a standard for what it means to be a forward-thinking nation. #leadership #mentalhealth #mentalwellbeing #organizationalwellbeing

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a national observance started in 1949 to bring attention to the importance of mental health and wellness. Across the country, individuals and organizations step up to raise awareness of and help address the challenges faced by people living with mental health conditions. May is an important month of observation where the world comes together to shed light on the importance of maintaining mental wellness. Together, we can continue to have open dialogue to spread awareness, reduce stigma, and increase access and support for those seeking mental healthcare services. In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, we will be sharing thoughts from members of our organization as to why they started a career in behavioral health, challenges that must be addressed and how we, as industry leaders, can continue to improve access and equality of care. #MayMentalHealthAwarenessMonth #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #ThisisHorizonHealth #HorizonHealth #BehavioralHealthSolutions
