Even after paying 58% in taxes on both earnings and spending, it feels like we are caught in an endless cycle of additional fees, cess charges, and more. It seems that heavy taxation is seen as a cure-all for financial issues, rather than addressing the underlying inefficiencies.
When we step outside, the situation worsens. Highways impose toll charges, yet the quality of these roads is often subpar. Broken or non-existent street lights leave us navigating in the dark, and the roads themselves are riddled with potholes and poor maintenance.
Local streets are similarly neglected. Despite paying for municipal services, the upkeep is often lacking. Parks, which should be places of leisure, are often left in disrepair, becoming sites of pest infestation and litter.
Rainfall exposes the severe infrastructure problems further. Streets flood quickly, revealing inadequate drainage and planning.
The state of education is concerning. Whether it’s exams like NEET or UPSC, the process seems fraught with issues, impacting the quality and reliability of our educational system.
Garbage collection and management are problematic, with garbage accumulating and streets resembling landfills. This mismanagement impacts the water table, leading to further environmental and health concerns.
Food safety is also a serious issue. Adulterated food is common, and even with high prices, the quality of fruits, vegetables, and other ingredients remains poor. This has led to a rise in health issues.
The healthcare system faces significant challenges. Government hospitals are often overcrowded and lacking in essential facilities. Ambulance services are insufficient, and timely medical care remains a significant concern.
Moreover, government-managed entities often appear to be in a state of disarray. Recent issues with school infrastructure and collapsed bridges highlight systemic problems. Meanwhile, there seems to be a disparity in the treatment of public officials versus ordinary citizens. The privileges enjoyed by some, including luxury vehicles and opulent lifestyles, stand in stark contrast to the conditions faced by the general public. This divide is apparent in various aspects, from education to healthcare, where the benefits and resources allocated to officials differ markedly from those available to the average person.
This disparity and ongoing issues underscore a need for greater accountability and effective management in public services and infrastructure. It’s essential for leaders to address these concerns to improve the quality of life for all citizens.
