The second session of the OpenInnoTrain 2024, Tallinn Summer School, Impact: A process beyond conclusion, co-presented by Professor Anne-Laure Mention and Dr. Avni Misra l PhD set the scene for the week long impact-mindset narrative by starting with: - the foundation knowledge of impact and its relevance  - a deeper understanding of the role of impact in research and practise  - an understanding of participant expectations of the summer school impact program. It was a dynamic, participant engaged session, first capturing participant understanding of impact, then shifting to sharing the program content including Definitions of #Impact of #Research and #Pathways from Research to Impact and showcasing, How do we create a research path to impact? The OpenInnoTrain SS Impact Process. Learning through the program and learning by sharing between the collective cohort was a wonderful and rich combination! These external shocks are creating the condition for the start of a deglobalization process. Deglobalization implies a decline in global flows of people, trades, and investments which inevitably affects that same collaborative and systemic efforts at the very core of innovation ecosystems (Granstrand and Holgersson; 2020; Nylund et al., 2022). Dramatic changes are introduced also by an unprecedented technological progress such as the emergence of “deep tech” innovation. Happy 😊 to be in the beautiful #Crete attending the Conference in Emerging Technologies in Transportation Systems (#TRC-30), wonderfully organized by a great team of EPFL. Seshadri Naik and I are enjoying inspirational keynote speaks of the highest level 🙌 and meeting very nice colleagues. And today it's our turn to present a poster that summarizes one of the aspects we are analyzing in the #Platoon project: ad hoc #management #strategies to optimize #CAV #platooning on #freeways. We have tested a #novel #car-#following algorithm specifically defined for #CAV platooning as well as several management strategies in Aimsun Next. This research is the result of the teamwork 🤓 carried out by our PI Francesc Soriguera, Bryce C. and Marcel Sala together with Seshadri and myself, and with the invaluable advice of Jaume Barcelo.
