"There will be two departures from the firm at the end of this year: North America president Mary Corcoran, and Sunil John, president of the Middle East and North Africa, and founder of Asda’a BCW. "John (pictured, left) sold his shares in the company to WPP earlier in the year and will remain in his role as president until the end of 2023. He will help to transition the region and clients to Scott Wilson, a 13-year BCW veteran, who has been promoted to CEO of BCW’s newly-formed EMEA region. "Corcoran joined BCW last year from Real Chemistry, where she was chief client officer. Her next move is not yet known. "DuBrowa said. “I’d like to thank both Mary Corcoran and Sunil John for all of their contributions to the agency over the years – Sunil built Asda’a BCW from the ground up over two decades of effort – and wish them the best in their future endeavors.” "In the US, Kristine Boyden will join the agency in the new role of CEO, Americas, covering the US, Canada, Mexico and Latin America, with oversight of business growth; senior client counsel; and talent acquisition, development and retention. She also has been named a member of BCW’s executive committee and global board. "Wilson (pictured, bottom right) had been BCW’s Europe and Africa president for the past five years. Before that, he was UK CEO and managing director of EMEA at Cohn & Wolfe. Earlier in his career, he was MD of consumer marketing for UK and EMEA at Weber Shandwick and head of media at Porter Novelli. Wilson and John will work together to appoint new leadership for Asda’a BCW. Originally from Colorado, Kate has called Washington D.C. home since 2020. Kate enjoys being home with her husband and German shepherd/husky mix, tending to their house plants or devouring a good book.   Get to know Kate below!   What was your very first job? My first job was as a backwaiter at a country club when I was 16. I had backed into my dad’s brand-new truck and needed to find a way to pay for the damage. I paid off the damages in two paychecks but ended up staying with the club for years, touching every position of operations through the various stages of school and early college years before pursuing the first of several career interests.   What is your biggest piece of advice for people coming up in the media and communications industry? Be curious and try everything! From daily clips and media list maintenance to reporter interactions, pitch decks and more, every part of the process involved in media and communications is integral to creating and executing a strong and successful communications strategy and PR campaign. Every part of the process is important so say yes to as many opportunities as you can -- you will develop different skills with each task that will only make you stronger and more confident wherever you land in the media and communications world, and beyond.   Why do you think local matters?   No one knows the unique needs and priorities of communities better than the folks living and working in these communities. Now, more than ever before, local is what people turn to, believe and trust in, so engaging in grassroots advocacy and hyperlocal PR campaigns is a necessary strategy to have the biggest impact on even the smallest of communities.

For me, what really sets the PRmoment Awards apart are the judges we’ve hand selected to look at each campaign. They look through each entry with a fine tooth comb and then select our finalists, and eventually, our winner. As the years have gone on, I’m sure the judges that have been with us for a few years would agree, finding one winner among all of the excellent campaigns has become more and more difficult. If you’ve ever wondered how our judging process works, first, our judges pre-score the campaigns they receive and then meet virtually on the judging day. We split all the judges into panels of 4-5 people, giving us three streams of one-hour meetings to monitor across judging day. At the end of this process, we then have our shortlist and then our judges choose our winners. Each award is judged completely fairly and without favouritism, which I think is why so many people view the PRmoment Awards so highly. When our judging line-up is complete, we’ll aim to have 50% in-house and 50% agency.
