Leave Well. As I end week 2 since my departure from the MOD, I consider all the reflections I've had and how they shape where I go next. Leaving well (psychologically) is very important and for me leaving well is a combination of having choice, recognition and a sense of having made a difference. I have left well and some of the comments on my leaving card, which is in my kitchen, remind me every day that I made a difference. What is on my dressing table is a additive manufacturing model of HMS Excellent that a team member made that I look at and smile and nod and fist bump because I had a vision and it became a reality and they embody it. These past two weeks have been super busy, with stuff I have chosen to do, so no Eisenhower matrix choices of what to delegate or delete and spending proper time with friends and colleagues, face to face, has opened up a host of unexpected doors. It's so exciting. I've experimented with my quiches - not a euphemism and my leek, bacon and goats cheese concoction is 10/10 So today I am positive, fulfilled and looking forward to continuing to be a part of things that excite me. One of those is collaborating with Allan Goody to set up a UK Chapter of Council of Logistics Engineering Professionals (CLEP) but more on that in the new year. In the meantime I refer to Noam Chomsky: “Optimism is a strategy for making a better future. Because unless you believe that the future can be better, you are unlikely to step up and take responsibility for making it so.” Merry Christmas You Filthy Animals 🎅 🦌 🎁

Not every company gets to experience the pride and insight that comes with being a multi-generational company. Families from our owners and team members have all worked with us through multiple generations, carrying the torch to ensure everyone who depends on us will have better products with every passing year. We are not here for the short term. We know that it is imperative to continue to reinvest back in the company to continue to improve our physical plant, systems and efficiencies. It’s how we can continue to deliver our customers a superior product for generations to come. That’s why we prioritize successful, long-term relationships with our team members, customers, and community. We are constantly evolving, so you can too. #alsey #refractories #culture

Gratitude in Logistics: A Road forward to Success At Rhode Sense, we always say, "Where there's a road, we'll find a way." This motto doesn't just speak to our commitment to solving logistical challenges; it also reflects our appreciation for the relationships and opportunities that pave these roads. Here are three reasons why embracing gratitude in our industry pays off: 1) Stronger Relationships: In logistics, the strength of our connections can make or break the supply chain. By expressing gratitude, we foster stronger collaborations, ensuring smoother operations and more reliable outcomes. 2) Enhanced Reputation: Gratitude isn't just good manners; it's good business. When we acknowledge the efforts of our partners and team, it enhances our reputation, making Rhode Sense a preferred partner in the industry. 3) Increased Resilience: The logistics world is fraught with unexpected challenges. A culture of gratitude helps us maintain a positive outlook, empowering us to navigate disruptions more effectively and keep finding new ways forward. As we continue to build roads and create pathways in logistics, let's remember the power of gratitude. To all our partners, customers, and team members: thank you for traveling this journey with us. Together, we'll keep finding the way. #Logistics #Gratitude #BusinessSuccess #RHODESENSE

It's time to do another deep dive into our core pillars. These pillars aren't just concepts; they're the heartbeat of our company, consistently guiding us over the last 6 years to deliver unparalleled service to you. Culture is our first pillar for a reason. But wait ☝️ it's not what you might think. Culture here at Port X Logistics isn't a buzzword or a trendy poster on the wall. It's the soul of our operations and a constant journey of interactions and growth. For us, culture is about changing lives, not just moving freight (although we love doing that too). It's an experience - a vibe that transcends what we believe has long been considered the "traditional" work environment. We're in the business of putting people first. Our team isn't just working; they're part of something bigger. By aligning with our values, we have heard from our employees that they are able to feel joy and satisfaction in what they do each day. Work doesn't feel like work when you're passionate and engaged. We don't just talk the talk; we walk it every day. We do this by treating each day as "Day One". Culture at Port X Logistics is about everyday actions, decisions, and interactions that reinforce who we are and the quality of service we provide. #PortXLogistics #CultureMatters #IndustryLeaders #InnovativeCulture #Pillars #PeopleFirst
