Female leaders have played significant roles throughout history, but the church has not always been a place for developing, empowering, and supporting women in their leadership gifts. In this course, J.R. Below, Lean In shares some great tips for preparing for year-end review negotiations -- the only thing we'd adjust is regarding using "we" and "the team" -- it is also critical to make it clear what YOU did specifically. Using "I" statements creates clarity on your impact and accomplishments. E.g., "The team surpassed our sales goal by X amount! In particular, I was able to get our sales process functioning more optimally and that helped all members of the team be more efficient. I'm glad I was able to help by leading that effort!" You can't be what you can't see. It's so important to get young people, particularly those from underrepresented groups, into the buildings where decisions are made. To show them that they can contribute. To help them envision themselves as the future leaders they are capable of becoming. I had the privilege of joining Youth Leads UK's Civic Leadership Steering Group - a group of talented young people from diverse backgrounds challenging the status quo. The energy, curiosity, and fresh perspectives they brought were truly inspiring. Inclusion is not just about giving opportunities but also about creating environments where everyone feels they belong and can thrive.
