For a while now, I’ve been very interested in research around food and mood. 🧠 This latest study just came across my desk from researchers in the UK looking at how following a self-reported keto diet impacts mental and emotional well-being in the general pop. https://lnkd.in/gRM5_MnT Highlights from the article: -->A ketogenic diet improved mood, including calmness, contentedness, and alertness, compared with those on other diets. [insert emotion emoji] Individuals on a ketogenic diet are less anxious and depressed compared with those on other diets. -->Cognitive and emotional stress is lower in individuals on a ketogenic diet compared with those on other diets. -->Participants following a ketogenic diet are less lonely compared with those on other diets. In their discussion, the researchers have a TON of ideas as to why they observed these results. What are your thoughts? 💭 I’d love to hear it! It’s documented that there are key nutrients in animal proteins, such as iron, zinc, vitamin B12 and fatty acids that are critical for brain development and cognition.
