👏👏 Congratulations to South Sudan and Côte d'Ivoire on the launch of the new malaria vaccines this week! The introduction of these life-saving vaccines marks a major milestone in national and global efforts to protect the health and well-being of children and save them from this deadly disease. Nearly half a million children under the age of five die each year from malaria. Now, thanks to the new malaria vaccines, many more children’s lives will be saved. With the countries involved in the lead, UNICEF continues to work with partners to support the delivery of these vaccines to children in areas where malaria is endemic, alongside the delivery of other critical supplies to fight malaria, including insecticide-treated bed nets, diagnostic tests, treatment supplies and cold chain strengthening.

Congrats indeed. This is very good move towards global #UHC to attain #SDG3. Kudos to Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance World Health Organization and other development partners
