Teacher Appreciation Day is significant for honoring educators who nurture the minds of future leaders. It's a day to express gratitude towards teachers for their positive impact on students' including future leaders' lives. They are defined by emotional intelligence, adaptability, strategic thinking, and a commitment to continuous learning and growth. These qualities enable them to manage their own emotions, embrace change, see the bigger picture, and lead effectively through transformation.

At the start of the year, almost half of the third graders (43%) started the year with kindergarten-level phonics skills (3+ years below). At the end of the year 66% of 3rd graders had advanced one grade level or more. #structuredliteracy #reading #95percentgroup

🛑 RECOMMENDATIONS: Any Schools\Consoulers\Administrators interested in our Junior Academy program coming into their school? 👀 Our mission at MANUP Global is to work with a middle school and high school to help our young black boys have access to tools and resources to evolve into accountable student leaders. The challenge we’ve been having is many kids don’t want to stay after school to participate so we need schools who are willing to allow us to navigatete the programming for 45mins-hour during school hours. Our track record speaks for itself – our program is proven to be beneficial. These statistics below highlight the urgent need for programs like our Junior Academy to provide mentorship, guidance, and resources to empower young Black boys to become accountable leaders in their communities. The YMCA Louisiana Youth and Government (Y&G) program is a statewide initiative promoting civic engagement through the YMCA's philosophy of being an organization that is continuously active in exercising social responsibility. This particular program prepares high schoolers for moral and political leadership. Through Y&G, teens learn about and experience government policies first-hand and learn how they can be changemakers to improve their communities. Plus, teens form lasting friendships, benefit from mentors, and sharpen their critical thinking, public speaking and writing skills. The mission of the YMCA Youth & Government program is two-fold: To encourage and foster leadership through service, fellowship, responsibility, and respect for oneself and others among all participants, and To educate and engage students in the process of government from local to national to international so that they become more active participants in their communities. This interpretation goes beyond simply listing our strengths.
