The Wall Street Journal/College Pulse rankings evaluate “how well each college sets graduates up for financial success … how much a school improves students’ chances of graduating and their future earnings,” WSJ says. “We don’t measure reputation, nor the college’s own finances.” The rankings include 14 HBCU campuses, eight of them public. Trailing N.C. A&T among public campuses are, in order: Florida A&M University, North Carolina Central University, Prairie View University, Tennessee State University, Savannah State University, Jackson State University and Alcorn State University.

What are the Educational, Health, or Economic Benefits to these Players and their Families for that kids uncompensated participation in any additional “NON-SCHOLARSHIP” private third-party postseason football games that pay the Universities and the Conferences for the use of their free labor to put on these highly profitable Bowl events. The answer is ZERO! These additional 1-5 POSTSEASON games are also above the Players’ 12 game athletic scholarship agreement? Our Proposal offers Major Benefits in all three Categories to the Players and their Families! Scholarship Football Players are owed Hundreds of Millions of dollars from this year’s Media contract that uses these Players’ Name, Image, and Likeness NIL without any equitable financial consideration to the Players or their Families! This lost Money could have a major impact on these Players lives, the lives of their current and future family members for generations? We do not support, or agree with the House vs NCAA Settlement or the current covert attempts to extend and expand this Antitrust exploitation of our young (mostly minority) FB & BB Players' labor that the US Supreme Court and Federal District Court have recently struck down as illegal and implausible.

Congratulations Dr. Robinson! 🎉 The Florida Board of Governors (FLBOG) unanimously approved a one-year contract extension for Florida A&M University (FAMU) President Larry Robinson, Ph.D., Wednesday. Meeting on the Florida State University (FSU) campus, the governing board for the 12 State University System (SUS) institutions, accepted the contract extension recommendation submitted by the FAMU Board of Trustees. On Oct. 12, 2023, the FAMU BOT approved the one-year extension, which extends the term of Robinson’s contract through December 31, 2024. SUS presidents are eligible only for one-year contract extensions. In a letter to the FLBOG, FAMU BOT Chair Kristin Harper praised President Robinson’s role in helping the University meet and surpass many of its goals in the University’s five-year strategic plan, “Boldly Striking.” “Under President Robinson’s leadership, FAMU has risen to the Top 100. The University is now ranked No. 91 of National Public Universities according to U.S. News & World Report, 2023-2024 Best Colleges. For the fifth consecutive year, FAMU is the highest-ranked public Historically Black College and University (HBCU). FAMU is also the No. 3 overall HBCU, trailing two private institutions,” Harper wrote. “FAMU remains a leader within the State University System in affordability and providing access to first-generation and low-income students. Wake Up Everybody “I am utterly disgusted by University of Florida decision and the precedent that it sets. Without the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion department, the job falls to the Office of the Provost, who already has their hands full, to raise money for the university and continue to advance the academic studies and athletic programs. We cannot continue to believe and trust that a team of leaders all made up of the same background will make the right decision when it comes to equality and diversity. History has already proven that is not the case. Instead of showing courage and leadership, we continue to fail based on systemic issues and with this decision, UFlorida has conformed to the political pressures of today’s time, To the MANY, minority athletes at UF, please be aware and vocal about the decision by the University who is now closing the doors on other minorities without any oversight. And to those who think it’s not your problem and stay on the side lines and say nothing, you are complicit in supporting systemic issues.” -Emmit Smith, former NFL player Pro Football Hall of Fame In 2023, the Florida football program made $93,206,919 in total revenue and paid out $60,894,176 in expenses. The program raked in a net profit of $32,312,743 for the university. 32 million dollars. Diversity, equity and inclusion are the ONLY reasons Florida athletics is able to compete in the Southeastern Conference. The ONLY reason. Huston-Tillotson University (HT) recently unveiled its strategic plan for the next decade.  Approved by the HT Board of Trustees, the plan, titled “From First to Foremost: Huston-Tillotson University 2024-2034,” is the culmination of an inclusive process that spanned several months and included the gathering of input from representatives of several key stakeholder groups, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors, community and business leaders and local elected officials. “Our 10-year plan establishes a clear, long-term vision for HT,” said Melva K. Wallace, who is completing her second year as the university’s 7th president. “It is the blueprint that we will use during the next ten years to solidify our position not only as a premier historically Black university, but as a top institution of higher education in the state of Texas. SDCCD colleges hope to be among California’s first Black-Serving Institutions A groundbreaking change to the state Education Code allowing for the designation of Black-Serving Institutions (BSI) at California community colleges is seen as transformative for Black students in the San Diego Community College District, with at least three local colleges poised to apply for this prestigious classification. It’s all part of a comprehensive effort to uplift and empower Black college students in reaching their highest education potential. “The designation of Black-Serving Institutions establishes an imperative for colleges to dismantle systemic barriers that have restricted access and success,” said San Diego Mesa College President Ashanti T. Hands. “This legislation recognizes both the barriers and the brilliance, contributions and unique perspectives of Black students and compels the creation of intentional, transformative policies and practices that unapologetically uplift, support, and champion the success of Black students in ways that are equitable, excellent, inclusive, innovative, accountable and just.” Under Senate Bill 1348, authored by state Sen. Steven Bradford (D-Gardena) and signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom on September 26, colleges or universities that excel in supporting to Black students and that have at least 10% or 1,500 students who are Black are eligible for California BSI designation that can help secure various state and federal grants. To qualify, colleges must have a Black student success program, providing academic and basic needs support to assist Black students, track their impact on Black student outcomes, and commit to serving Black students in their mission. San Diego City, Mesa, and Miramar colleges have already secured designations as Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSI) and Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institutions (AANAPISI), and those federal designations allow the colleges to apply for grants that support students from all backgrounds. Morehouse College has risen five places to rank No. 95 among Liberal Arts Colleges nationwide, according to the 2025 U.S. News & World Report rankings. The College maintains its position among the top five historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) in the nation, reflected in its record enrollment of over 2,500 students with an average 3.7 GPA, for the incoming class of 2028. Of the over 7,000 applications received, only 43% were accepted due to the increased competitiveness amongst prospective students vying for a future at Morehouse College.
