Delighted to share insights from my latest publication in the JBI EVIDENCE IMPLEMENTATION e-bulletin! "The Victorian Experiment: Implementing change in the midst of a pandemic," explores Victoria's response to protecting frontline Healthcare Workers (HCWs), predominantly #nurses, during #covid19pandemic. https://lnkd.in/gwpDjwh4 Despite existing pandemic plans, outdated strategies, inadequate investment in #publichealth, and PPE shortages left HCWs disproportionately affected, with a staggering rise in infections. HCWs endured inadequate protection, leadership issues, and mental health impacts, exacerbating a workforce crisis and straining our healthcare system. Conflicting national guidance further undermined resilience. We urgently need comprehensive disaster management and direct input from HCWs. Strengthening internal protection and addressing workplace culture are crucial for HCW #wellbeing. Let’s heed these lessons to better protect and support our invaluable HCWs.
