The #MonacoGP will always be a special one for me. ♥️ It was the week of the 2021 Monaco Grand Prix when I first set up my katied.mclaren Instagram page. 🧡 At the time, I was still working as a Sports Rehab Therapist, but had already been made redundant once due to the impact from COVID, and my other clinic had told me they too would be closing because of COVID. From working 6 days a week (7 days for 2 years - I don’t recommend!) to then being made redundant twice in less than 10 months wasn’t easy! 👎 Since then though, I’ve shared 2891 posts and I dread to think how many stories, some of which have been viewed by McLaren Racing, Lando Norris and Zak Brown! 👊 Initially, I was posting on here A LOT about milestones with my Instagram page. Those of you who have followed for a while will remember! However, that’s what got my name out there. People saw I was consistent and showed up. Some of those believed in me and knew I deserved an opportunity but could see that my experience was lacking. Without having my Instagram page and building a network on LinkedIn, I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to start working at Formula Careers or Events House, both of which have allowed me to build my experience, as well as having something a bit more substantial on my CV! Beyond the Injury: The Mental Game of GAA and Injury Prevention GAA sports have unquestionably high physical demands, but performance and injury prevention are also psychologically complex issues that are sometimes ignored. Attention must be paid to the psychological effects of injuries and the mentality required for the best possible rehabilitation. The Effects of Injury on Emotion 🧠 For GAA athletes, missing time due to an injury may be catastrophic. Common emotions include irritation, loneliness, and even dread for their future in the sport. These psychological obstacles may impede the healing process and increase the difficulty of going back to playing. Mentality Counts 🧘♂️ Sports psychology is essential to both preventing injuries and recovering from them. This is the reason why: Resilience: Determination that helps athletes overcome obstacles. They are able to stay motivated throughout their recovery and recover more powerfully. Stress management: Stress raises the risk of injury by tightening muscles and impairing concentration. Positive Visualisation: By using visualisation techniques, athletes can stay confident and see themselves making a successful comeback to the field. With our app, we want to be able to put less stress on your life and help you to have a healthy and happy GAA career.

Being a top salesperson requires what I like to call "top salesperson fitness." This isn't just about skills, it's about the effort and the tangible results that effort brings, mirroring top-tier sales outcomes. My journey parallels this in marathon training. One of my best training year was 2022, but then I had ups and downs with with plantar fasciitis in 2023 and Achilles tendinitis at the start of 2024 taking me out of the game for 12 weeks. I've been back to running for 16 weeks now, yet I'm not quite where I was, previously, where a run like today I’d be hitting a 7:00 minute pace. However, I see this as just a part of my comeback. Next week marks my return to racing with a 5K, followed by the Belmar 5-mile race three weeks later. With the next marathon scheduled for October, I have ample time to gain more fitness, even though a 3:18 finish, or faster, might not be in the cards just yet. The best race you run is always relative to your fitness level at the starting line. As for what my time will be, I don't know yet. But I'm committed to doing my best, which is all one can ask for given their current state. This is a valuable lesson for sales professionals: you cannot reach the pinnacle of sales performance without the requisite "fitness" in your professional endeavors. #sales #IRunAndSellNJ

The rowing machine is my favourite cardio equipment in the gym, followed by the assault bike. I don’t care much for the skier, but I do use it. There are many other machines that I don’t really have an opinion on either way. I have also calculated that it would take me close to rowing 4 kilometres to negate the calories of a crème egg. I could of course not consume the crème egg in the first place but where is the fun in that? Recruiting in a candidate short market is a similar experience, there is a huge amount of effort over an incredibly long period of time for what can be perceived as minimal reward. We don’t get instant results in anything in life; any results are a combination of multiple factors all coming together over time. Day 5/30 of #buildinpublic for Beloga The #olympics just ended and just wanted to talk about how we can learn some positive traits from these sports athletes and apply that to building a start up. Firstly these athletes are niches in their own rights and they have domain expertise too which is similar whilst building a start up! They choose a sport and go all in into being the best at it. This is something I am actively doing with Beloga too, having domain experience in the field of Productivity and search (for Wilson Ler), we decide to combine the best of both worlds and go all in on that! Secondly, these athletes show up day in day out to train consistently to keep sharpening their craft! For a start up, it’s about being that business athlete showing up for the company, sharpening various skills be it technical or non technical skills like sales. It takes countless of practice to get it right and I still remember the time where I pitched Beloga for the first time, I can’t even get the words out properly but with practice right now I am able to confidently say what we do at Beloga. Thirdly, these athletes never gave up. Giving up wasn’t an option for them. This was super evident with Novak Djokovic where he waited 20 years for his gold medal in tennis! That’s honestly a long time and a lot of determination to stay through. All these shows that it doesn’t matter if you’re a sport athlete or a business athlete, there are definitely cross overs that we can learn from one another! To end it off, I would like to share one of my favourite all time quote “train like an underdog, fight like a champion” 🔥🔥🔥 P.S. the sunset to me is just a reminder to breathe through whilst staying consistent!

This year marks my 8th anniversary for boxing. I remember the first day I almost threw up and passed out and next thing I knew 8 years went by!! 😮 This sport has taught me discipline, agility, team work, punctuality, versatility and resistance. All of these skills I make sure I take them into my professional work and make sure they shine through. This is the reason I still haven’t given up in finding a job in the marketing industry, I learned to never give up and give it your all. If I’m not working this is what I do. I am glad I found an outlet that helps me physically qnd mentally. Pivoting from the private sector to do my own thing now. I am going to transform Jns Performance Wear from just dance and figure skating into a leading golf apparel brand within our industry. I do plan to continue offering dance and figure skating apparel for the forseeable future. But Golf is my focus now. We have the infrastructure already in place and product development mastered. We have all the dots for economies of scale connected in LA and Minneapolis, through multiple partnerships that include sourcing and merchandising. Basically a whole conglomerate that I have been puzzling together for the last 15 years. Now its finally time to set sail on my dream! Thank you to Silicon Valley, Motiv Power Systems, especially, and all the executive leadership for showing me JUST how easy it is to make money and to scale business if you can get contracts and prove value. You lost one hell of a hunter last winter. I assure you. Thanks to everyone who taught me everything along the way. I learned from everyone. Both what to do, and of course what not to do. And I'll be forever grateful for that. Thanks to all the interviews and opportunities in 2024 where I got really close, but for some reason it was never right. This feels right now. I almost moved around the world. Ha and I still might if I choose a European Tour. Life and all we humans chase has certainly been my best teacher. Make sure you never bend the truth, and make sure you always act in moral ethical code. Or the Universe might not appreciate our actions. I'm interested in REAL value this time around. And something I can call my own. My dreAMS are alive again. I made it to a half dozen final round interviews and nothing really got me excited. Mostly bored. So I've decided to forge my own way in this world now. Alone, with flourishing capital, my endurance I have built up, and all the time in the world to practice what I've learned. Please no job inquiries, only serious investors. As I pursue a life on the PGA Tour, LIV tour, and the DP World Tour, I'm going to develop a brand and take it alongside me to market.
