UConn Program in Applied Public Health Sciences’ Post

Did you know? About 72% of the state’s housing stock in CT was built before 1980. As a result, a large proportion of residents experience housing-related health issues like exposure to lead paint and worsening asthma symptoms.* - When you pursue a MPH, you can help solve this issue. Public policy and law are areas that significantly impact the public health field. Government officials and policy analysts can design programs that increase access to healthcare for the general population, address health disparities, and change the organization of communities to improve health. Public health workers involved in the law can use existing regulations to protect underrepresented groups or advocate for the protection of the environment.
