I’m excited to share my research paper, "UAV Object Detection and Tracking in Video using YOLOv3 and Deepsort," published in IEEE Xplore! 📄 With the rapid rise in the popularity of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), there’s an urgent need for effective detection and tracking mechanisms. In my study, I developed advanced deep-learning models that not only accurately recognize drones—including those resembling birds—but also enhance their tracking capabilities. Utilizing the YOLOv3 object detection model alongside OpenCV, I achieved an impressive accuracy rate of 96.98% at 0.5 mAP. By integrating DeepSORT, I ensured efficient monitoring and tracking of identified drones, reinforcing public safety and security. This work fills a crucial gap in drone detection technology, and I’m excited about its potential applications.
