Our final session of our symposium last Tuesday was a closed Incident Review Meeting. While we can't share the incidents, we can share some photos with useful messages and food for thought. Special thanks to Scott Spooner, Chris Jackson, and Ben Plummer for sharing their experiences and to all of our attendees for participating in robust discussion of how we prevent future safety occurrences.

Last Tuesday, at our symposium, we posed the slightly cheeky question of "What if drones came first?" and what that would mean for airspace. George Ridd from AirShare opened the panel discussion by focussing on AirShare's work in the uncontrolled aerodrome space (after sharing a flew clever illustrations he had made). Wing Commander Richard ‘Dicko’ Beaton provided a defence force point of view in how different aircraft are integrated into the same airspace, and Scott Griffith from the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand provided some interesting future ideas such as digital flight rules. The panel discussion showed great interest from attendees in the topic area. We are grateful to AirShare for sponsoring this session and helping make our event a success.

Last Tuesday, at our symposium, we had a session focussed on managing and assessing risk for UAV operations. Dr Andrew Shelley from Fenix UAS provided a thought-provoking critique of how we conceptualise risk management, and Phillip Grieve from Hover UAV provided an excellent overview of the latest JARUS SORA processes and shared his experiences with using their methodology.
