🇮🇩 Rising for Indonesia's Golden Future in 2045 🇮🇩 On this "Hari Kebangkitan Nasional (National Awakening Day)", we commemorate the spirit of "awakening" that ignited our nation's journey toward independence. It was on May 20, 1908, that young intellectuals and leaders formed "Budi Utomo", the first indigenous political organization in Indonesia. Their vision was clear: to awaken the collective consciousness, foster unity, and empower our people. As we mark 116 years since that pivotal moment, let us reflect on our progress. From the struggle against colonial rule to the challenges of modern times, we continue to rise. Our theme this year, "Bangkit untuk Indonesia Emas (Rising for Indonesia's Golden Future)",, resonates deeply. It reminds us that our efforts today shape the legacy we leave for generations to come. Looking ahead to 2045, the centenary of Indonesia's independence, we envision a nation that gleams like gold. A future where innovation, education, and sustainable development flourish. A future where our diversity is our strength, and our shared values propel us forward. Let's celebrate our resilience, unity, and determination. I am told, repeatedly, not enough people understand the meaning of our MADANI approach to government. What it means, what it is supposed to do, how it is supposed to uplift the lives of Malaysians. What it is, simply, is the credo for Malaysia’s reform. MADANI is entirely about improving the lives of every Malaysian from every corner of the country – irrespective of class, creed, or colour. Through an approach to leadership and management of government predicated on transparency, professionalism and driven, always, by a focus on being rakyat-centric. I know this is a hard concept to grasp for some, especially as it seems in recent years and even just very recently, amongst those who still seek to accentuate divisions. I prefer a vastly different approach. To lead by example. To live by the MADANI values. Only then we can gain your trust. And from there, we can begin to harness the strengths of each distinctive, individual characteristics and weave them into a single, colourful national tapestry – united in purpose and committed to building a prosperous future for all. Delivering on our promises for a better future for all Malaysians was the sole focus of the two-day retreat for all members of my Cabinet this week in Cyberjaya. We know we need to improve service delivery and also need to speed up the delivery of government services. There are more structural changes to make in order for us to fulfill the promises of our MADANI economy and we will accelerate our transformation. The road may be long, and there are bound to be bumps along the way, but Insya-Allah, it will be all worth it when we get there. Educational emphasis on regeneration and innovative technology investment are key to this shift, potentially leading Malaysia to holistic, resilient, and future-oriented development, benefiting current and future generations. However, practical challenges in MADANI's implementation must be addressed. Its complexity requires nuanced solutions, and the ideal of transparency demands robust accountability mechanisms. Managing public expectations and addressing systemic challenges like bureaucratic inefficiencies and corruption are pivotal for its success. Ensuring inclusivity in policy-making and the sustainability of initiatives amidst political and economic shifts is also crucial. Ultimately, MADANI's success hinges on balancing high ideals with realistic, pragmatic solutions, navigating these challenges to realize its visionary goals for Malaysia.

Indonesia has entered a new era where women have filled important positions in society and government structures. Women's organizations have grown significantly both in number and capacity. However, situations and challenges need to be anticipated. Leadership challenges in the current era of globalization include, (1) Crisis of trust; (2) Conflict of interest; (3) Lack of synergy between national and regional leaders; and (4) The erosion of local wisdom values.

In light of recent discussions and a noteworthy piece by Berita Harian, I feel compelled to share insights from a survey we conducted, which resonates deeply with the sentiments expressed. Engaging with over 360 participants across Malaysia, we explored their perspectives on spending for Hari Raya in the current economic landscape. The feedback was illuminating, revealing a cautious approach to expenditure, a reflection of the broader mood. Presented at a conference in November 2023, these findings are not just numbers but voices of real people navigating these uncertain times. In the spirit of community and understanding, Modachi revisited these insights post-Chinese New Year, aiming to offer guidance and foresight.
