Total employment increased by 114,000 jobs in July, the second-lowest monthly gain in 2024 and falling well under the trailing-year average of 215,000 roles added. That hiring slowdown contributed to unemployment rising by 20 basis points month-over-month to 4.3 percent, the highest measure since October 2021. Health care accounted for about half of the overall net July employment gain, while accommodations and food services as well as construction also recorded monthly increases of at least 20,000 jobs. Headcount reductions, however, spanned several labor segments. The sharpest drops occurred in the information, finance and insurance as well as educational services sectors. In total, the number of unemployed people rose by 352,000 to 7.2 million. Job opportunities are growing across sectors in tier 2 and 3 cities, and professionals are eager to join, recruiters and firms said. Escalating living costs and infrastructural challenges in metros are prompting executives to move to smaller towns. Companies, on their part, are drawn by cheaper land costs, lower salaries, and easy talent availability, besides rising disposable incomes in these cities. I saw this article today, entitled “Job market 'incredibly tight' despite rise in unemployment. Australia's headline unemployment rate increased slightly to 3.8 per cent in March, after employment fell by 7,000 people and unemployment rose by 21,000 people. This is in interesting, as what I am seeing in the IT contractor space right now, is a very candidate heavy market, with not enough opportunity. As we head towards the end of the financial year, there has certainly been an increase in federal government IT contract roles. Do we think this will continue into the second half of the year? #recruitment #fedgov #ITcontarctors #labourhire

Given the holiday last week you may have missed the latest jobs report from the US Labor Department. Some 206,000 new jobs were created last month. The top sectors seeing growth follow the pattern for much of this year: healthcare, government, and construction. The unemployment rate broke 4% for the first time since November 2021. It's still, of course, historically low. Buried in the report, however, was that job seekers who have lost their jobs in recent months are having a harder time finding work. That's truly unfortunate, but I'm not shocked by the challenges so called "discouraged workers" face. Many jobs these days are highly specialized. Employers have a lot of options when hiring. In truth, there are a myriad of reasons why it's hard to get back into the workforce. #jobs #hiring #unemployment #jobsgrowth #jobsreport

It's time to reassess workforce plans as we navigate these changing dynamics. #JobsReport #IndusryInsights #MondoInsights https://lnkd.in/egNYwVUp

Let's talk FACTS 📶 BLS Facts 🚀 With an increase in new jobs across various industry the spike in new jobs within the US construction and health care job market is expected to rise going into 2024. In fact, filling labor gaps within the construction industry will continue to be a challenge in 2024 as it is expected to continue to add new jobs on top of the large number of already unfilled roles. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the construction sector is expected to have the largest increase in employment than any other sector, adding 790,400 jobs through 2024. In correlation the overall employment in healthcare occupations is expected to grow 13% from 2021 to 2031. That's much faster than the average for most other occupations. No doubt about it: these are tough times for HR professionals in the healthcare industry. Chronic recruiting and retention challenges have many organizations wondering what lies ahead. Will things change for the better any time soon? What’s the long-term outlook? The use of talent acquisition managers is expected to rise as the job market continues to expand in these industry. The question regarding the massive expansion of these job markets does however remain...How does the usage and optimization of using external resources to ensure the continues growth of the companies by hiring only top industry talent effect the manageability of the increasing job markets? Will companies manage to stay on top of the growth within their sectors? #jobsearching #hiringnow #hiringimmediately #healthcarecareers #healthcare #constructionindustry

The government doesn't provide jobs! The government has destroyed the country! 😓 Our youth is so free that everyone says the same thing. But think about it, if you have a business, how many people will you employ? As many as you need or as many as need a job. But if you need people but don't have money or budget constraints, you won't hire anyone. The government is in a similar situation; they will hire only as many people as they need. And if there is a need but no money to pay salaries, they won't hire! If there's both money and a need, and still no jobs are given, then I believe our government isn't as good as we think. Why do we rely on them? Why don't we take action ourselves? Why do we chase government jobs? I suggest instead of seeking jobs, become so skillful that you can provide jobs to four more people. Investing time in oneself and consistently focusing on one's work is more fruitful than waiting for government job posts for 4-5 years. [This post is for those who only want a government job and end up wasting many years waiting for it.] #governmentjobs #hiringalert #careergoals
