My thoughts on Balancing Growth and Authenticity in Pickleball. Pickleball’s rapid growth is exciting, but it raises concerns about commercialization overshadowing its community roots. How do we maintain authenticity while embracing this growth? ➡ Let the Sport Evolve Naturally Allow pickleball to find its own path. Organic growth ensures the sport stays true to its origins, resonating with both new and longtime players. ➡Elevate the Competition Quality Equipment: Better paddles and gear enhance the game. Tournaments: More tournaments increase visibility and opportunities. Skill Development: A higher level of play makes professional status more prestigious. ➡Preserve Community Spirit Local Support: Encourage local clubs and events. Inclusivity: Keep the sport accessible to all. Celebrate Origins: Honor pickleball’s history and values. By balancing competitive growth with community roots, we can ensure a bright, authentic future for pickleball. #Pickleball #SportsGrowth #Community #Authenticity #Competition

Pickleball... a funny sounding name for game that is America's #1 fastest growing sport - who knew? When my husband told me that the Pickleball was a favorite game for him and his fellow firefighters during their downtime to blow off steam, I almost laughed out loud... mostly picturing giant grown men scrambling around a court chasing a tiny ball with a miniature racket. But then come to find out that no, it's a thing, and it's a trending thing at that! Thinking about adding some life to your company picnic, or setting up an activity space where employees can get some exercise as their break? Take a look at BAMKO's newest trend deck on Pickleball, it may give you some ideas on how to change things up!

I’m curious to hear people’s opinions on Pickleball tenants… I say tenant as opposed to sport purposely. Everyone’s seen the explosion of interest for pickleball and how operators are rolling out new facilities catered specifically for it. Personally, I don’t doubt the level of hype and interest surrounding the SPORT. But I do have my doubts about the longevity and profitability of pickleball OPERATORS, ie having a pickleball tenant in your retail center or owning a STNL pickleball facility. Why? It’s pretty easy to create a pickleball court. Outdoor/indoor tennis and basketball courts can easily be converted and/or improved to include the addition of pickleball. This is already happening pretty regularly in parks and residential communities. And the same way townships have children and adult basketball leagues, couldn’t they do the same for pickleball, while utilizing elementary/middle school/high school gyms and local parks? Am I over simplifying the barriers of entry? What do you think the future of pickleball as a business looks like? Is it a flash in the pan? Or is there real sustainability? #cre #commercialrealestate #pickleball #realestate Progress Realty Partners

I get asked almost every single day why Pickleball is so popular. Investors, journalists, potential franchisees, my friends and family... Everyone’s trying to understand why this sport with a goofy name played by retirees is suddenly the hottest thing in the country. The hype truly is real. Just a few weeks ago, I saw 30+ people waiting to play at their local courts before they went to work. Four courts, packed, with a line of enthusiastic players ready to jump in at a moment's notice. For me, the appeal is pretty simple: — It's the thrill of friendly competition — The satisfaction of mastering new skills — The joy of sharing your passion with others Pickleball is competitive - many of us lost the thrill of athletic competition out of high school. It’s very easy to learn - unlike tennis, the average person can get a rally going in a few minutes. The community - you can’t play it alone. You’re forced to be social and that’s good for the soul. But what people are *really* asking when they ask about the appeal is: → Will Pickleball’s popularity stick? I think it absolutely will. It speaks to a variety of needs. It’s a unique combination of exercise, camaraderie, and simple fun that appeals to people of all ages. In an increasingly isolated, digital world with simmering issues across generations, we NEED sports like Pickleball. And I’m seeing firsthand, when you pick up a paddle for the first time, you become a pickler in no time! — So what is it about #Pickleball that makes it so addictive? Is it the fast-paced rallies, the strategic gameplay, or the warm sense of community?
