🌊🙌 A Texas defense startup has demonstrated a pair of autonomous surface vessels being developed for the Pentagon’s China-focused Replicator program. Saronic Technologies demonstrated its Cutlass and Spyglass ASVs during the US Navy’s Integrated Battle Problem 24.1 exercise, featuring third-party payloads to deliver diverse effects in contested waters. The 14-foot Cutlass was integrated with an Anduril Industries loitering munition, extending its launch point. This is an excellent article on the growth of the drone threat. Cheap and easy to opeate, drones are the new threat on the battlefield, as such they need to be dealt with in the same fashion as Anti Tank and Anti Aircraft defences. Layered and coordinated cUAS systems must be part of every nations defence capabilities.

This year’s largest European defence industry event, Eurosatory, featured the biggest-ever presence of unmanned combat systems by the world-leading robotics and autonomous systems developer Milrem Robotics. Altogether, 10 of the company’s robotic systems were on display at the exhibition, which took place from June 17 to 21 in Paris, France. Eight of these systems were different versions of the THeMIS Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) and two Type-X Robotic Combat Vehicles (RCV). In addition to Milrem Robotics’ stand, systems were showcased together with leading industry partners: Avalor.AI, CNIM, KNDS, KONGSBERG, and Thales, additionally featuring integrated technology by FN Herstal, Metravib Defence, Leonardo, Rheinmetall, Pearson Engineering, and Vegvisir. "The THeMIS UGV was already part of robotics programmes in 18 countries worldwide and assisting Ukrainian soldiers with casualty evacuation and route clearance in the war with Russia," said Kuldar Väärsi, CEO of Milrem Robotics. AeroVironment’s (AV) Switchblade 600 loitering munition system has been selected for Tranche 1 of the first iteration of the U.S. Department of Defense’s (DoD) Replicator initiative. AV’s Switchblade 600 is a man-portable, extended-range loitering munition system equipped with an anti-armor warhead for engaging larger, hardened targets at greater distances. The first iteration of the Replicator initiative aims to accelerate all-domain, attritable autonomous systems to warfighters at speed and scale. 🇪🇪🤖 Milrem Robotics has opened a new Tracked Hybrid Modular Infantry System (THeMIS) production facility in Estonia. Established near the company's headquarters in Tallinn, the center will increase THeMIS assembly and manufacturing to over 500 units annually. “Many end-users, satisfied with the results of testing the robotic vehicles, are preparing to launch high-quantity procurements,” Milrem Robotics CEO Kuldar Väärsi explained. “With the opening of our new facility, we are better prepared to answer these calls.
