I just started playing a game on Nintendo switch called "Endless Ocean: Luminous" it's a scuba game where you scan and track various ocean creatures and learn about them. In the beginning of the game, literally the tutorial, you find a coelacanth. so I find this article very suiting right now, that In 2010 deep divers found one in a cave. I'm not finished the article yet so I don't know the most modern sighting. but check this out.
