Turkish Airlines announced passenger and cargo traffic results for December with 19.4% higher passenger capacity in terms of available seat kilometres compared to that of 2022. According to the January-December 2023, the total number of passengers increased by 16.1% to 83.4 million compared to the same period of 2022. Since 2004, every passenger in the EU has been protected by rights covering disruptions and the provision of information to passengers before and during their journey. The Commission now wants to update these rules to make life easier for travellers. For example, hand baggage dimensions should be the same for all airlines. It should also be easier to get a refund if you book through a travel agent. if there was indeed a price War between Air Peace (P4) and British Airways (BA), it will not be started by BA, because BA is aware that they'll lose. If you remove all of the other nationalities transiting through the UK, you'll discover that over 80% of the passengers on the route are Nigerians who will favor P4 over BA with the right messaging and product offer. Premium class passengers will he difficult to move away from BA due to the binding loyalty products and punitive consequences of not being frequent; and as we've seen, these premium BA customers are price inelastic and will pay any price for the privilege of BA. As for the rear cabin, if the numbers make sense, other carriers that transit passengers will not be able to compete with P4, in particular P4 can water down the benefits of travel through the Middle East, through East and North African and with the right product offering and direct flights to the UK. What are the winning enticements? price to start; reliability, the cabin experience and baggage allowances. Just lower prices that passengers need tp pay more for baggage won't cut it. The average Nigerian passenger pay for his trip by the things he purchases and brings back, reliability is almost important, a few hours delay isn't as critical as cancelations. Amazingly how crews relate with passengers is extremely important, if the P4 crews are less snobbish than BA crews, you have a sure winner, but unfortunately African cabin crews think that smiling is cheapening. Just make the customer feel at home, treat them special. So there's really no fear that P4 will lose the route war, they just need to better understand the international passenger. If someone says that they don't want you without exception, you don't go there....

Turkish Airlines had a fantastic year in 2023, increasing passenger counts by 16.1% to a record-breaking 83.4 million! Additionally, as a result of their planned strategy, the number of international transit passengers increased by 27.1% to 29.8 million.
