As we approach the São Paulo GP, I can't help but wonder, is it time for another one of Red Bull's brutal mid (close to end)-season changes? Checo is going through a rough season atm, with his latest race in Mexico adding even more pressure. 🇲🇽 He was knocked out early in Q1, and then a collision caused damage to his car, making it a weekend to forget. Adding fuel to the rumour, Christian was pretty clear: "the team has done everything to support him, but in Formula 1, results are everything." Over his 13-year career, Checo usually is recognised as one of the reliable drivers. I am talking about the amazing last-to-first finish at 2020 Sakhir! 🏆 In his early years at Sauber and Force India, he pulled off podiums when few thought it possible. BUT with Red Bull now slipping in the Constructors' standings to an "outstanding" (I am still not over the Max's Mexican GP graphic, lol) 3rd, I am not quite sure it matters, anymore.. F1 is brutal! You are only as good as your last race… Somehow, with the Red Bull machine, he’s struggling to match up to Max’s unstoppable form this season. With drivers like Liam and Yuki potentially eyeing his seat, Checo might be running out of chances. Over the past few weeks, Sergio Perez‘s future at Red Bull was once again questioned. His performance in Austria and Silverstone didn’t make his CV look better. Now Helmut Marko confirmed that Red Bull will assess the situation during the summer break. 🗣️ “All Formula 1 contracts have exit clauses, most of them related to performance – or let’s say for the top drivers,” Marko told ‘Grandprix 247’. “As I mentioned before, we will have an evaluation during the summer break – and then we will make a decision.” The upcoming two races in Hungary and Belgium will be important for Perez‘s future.
