Success for #ACCS during the NATO Exercise Poggio Dart 23 Two ACCS systems (A Combined Air Operations Center CARS and a Deployable Control Reporting Center DARS) were used to conduct the whole PODA23 exercise from computer assisted exercise to live planning/tasking to the execution of live operations. The DARS was interfaced with radars and over Tactical Data Links (L16 and JRE) exchanging real time information with CAOCs and Fighters and getting backlink information from these flying assets. This exercise gathered around 30 Allied aircraft (F-35, F-16…) with an average of 35 live flights per day. Read more: https://lnkd.in/e_zsNm-m

The 737 AEW&C…in 1990 was originally conceived and developed as a Direct Commercial Sales (DCS), Vice Foreign Military Sales (FMS) which is managed by the Department of Defense. As a DCS Program, it was approved by Deputy Secretary of Defense John Hamre and USAF Lieutenant General Tome Walters. The Program was initiated as a joint collaboration between Boeing, Northrop Grumman, and Australia (Wedgetail), and subsequently added Turkey (Peace Eagle), South Korea (Peace Eye), and the United Kingdom (Wedgetail II). Additionally, there were more than 10 other interested countries seriously considering the DCS procurement of the 737 AEW&C. Since the initiation of Australian Wedgetail and more than 20 years of ignoring U.S. Industry warnings to the U.S. Air Force that the AWACS logistical support & sustainability was quickly eroding & “drying up” and the ultimate reduction of the USAF AWACS fleet Operational Capability to 40%, the Air Force was compelled to purchase the Boeing - Northrop Grumman 737 AEW&C (Military Type Designated E-7A). Now, as a consequence of the USAF procurement of the 737 AEW&C and it being “Military Type Designated” ALL future International procurements of the 737 AEW&C/E-7A will be required to be procured through Foreign Military Sales (FMS), overseen by the Defense Security Cooperation Agency and administered by the U.S. Air Force Air Materiel Command (AFMC); with an Administrative Surcharge per case of 3.2%, incorporation within the USAF managed & authorized procurement channels and secondary to USAF deliveries of logistical support and training items. #NATO #boeing #boeing737 #northropgrumman #australia #turkey #korea #unitedkingdom #India #saudiarabia #qatar #dubai #uae #poland #Italy #malaysia #sinapore #algera #chile #QUAD #AUKUS #statedepartment #departmentofdefense #departmentofstate #DCSA #DDTC #DTSA #SAF #CSIS

ANPC's Transportable Transponder Landing System (TTLS) serves a vital purpose, enabling precision landing on terrain where the installation of Instrument Landing Systems is not readily available. The TTLS system allows remote and or unprepared airfields to be VFR in 30 mins, and IFR in under 3 hrs from touchdown, anywhere in the world. This image captures the U.S. Air Force Airmen collaborating with Japan Air Self-Defense Force Airmen, constructing a TTLS at Kadena Air Base, Japan. NATO Enhances Surveillance Capabilities with Boeing Wedgetails NATO is set to modernize its surveillance capabilities with the purchase of six Boeing E-7A Wedgetail surveillance planes. The move comes as NATO aims to update its airborne surveillance fleet, replacing the outdated and expensive-to-maintain Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) aircraft. The large radar domes on the new Wedgetails will enable the alliance to detect aircraft hundreds of miles away, offering valuable situational awareness. Production of the militarized Boeing 737 jetliner, set to begin in the coming years, aligns with NATO's collective defense strategy. The contract, one of NATO's most significant purchases, is expected to be signed next year, with the first planes ready for duty by 2031. The investment, aiming to pool resources for more cost-effective operations, underscores the alliance's commitment to adapting to evolving security challenges. #NATO #BoeingWedgetail #SurveillanceCapability 🛰️🤝
