It’s this very experience that has fueled my passion and transformed me into the unwavering social advocate I am today. 🌿 The Roots of Resilience: Two decades ago, I stepped into the world of social work, not fully realising how my own struggles would become my greatest asset. Those moments of hardship—the sleepless nights, the uphill battles—have become the bedrock of my resilience. They’ve taught me empathy, compassion, and the unwavering belief that every individual’s story matters. 🌎 A Global Odyssey: My journey has taken me across three countries, each with its unique challenges and triumphs. From bustling city streets to remote communities, I’ve witnessed the resilience of the human spirit. I’ve learned that social work transcends borders—it’s a universal language of care and connection. 🤝 Meeting Extraordinary Social Workers: Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of meeting incredible social workers. They are the unsung heroes—the ones who tirelessly advocate for vulnerable populations, who lend a listening ear to those in crisis, and who ignite hope even in the darkest of times. Their contributions are immeasurable, and they inspire me daily. 🌸 Today and Tomorrow: My passion to support others burns brighter than ever. Whether it’s empowering a struggling family, advocating for policy change, or simply being a compassionate presence, I know that social work is my life’s purpose. With a robust background in community engagement and stakeholder engagement and management, I am in good standing to advocate, advance, and educate on these key development issues especially in the human resource landscape. In Lesotho, I am committed to advancing transparent hiring policies that are free from bias and discrimination. I also aim to promote employee wellbeing by developing policies and practices that address issues of mental health, physical health, and work-life balance. I believe that a focus on diversity and inclusion, and on employee wellbeing, is essential for a successful and sustainable business environment in Lesotho. Stakeholder partnerships would be an important part of my vision for diversity, inclusion, and wellbeing in the workplace. I believe that by engaging with key stakeholders, such as the government, educational institutions, and community organizations, we can create a more robust and sustainable system for promoting these values. For example, I would aim to partner with government agencies to ensure that labor laws and regulations are fair and equitable. Workingdom - The Kingdom in The Workplace Our workplaces play a pivotal role in contributing to a country’s gross domestic product (GDP), however the workplace has become one of the grounds that the kingdom of darkness runs rampant to push evil agendas in an attempt to cripple the output and resourcefulness of companies, communities, countries and ultimately continents . This is seen in gender inequality, subtle racial prejudices, toxic work environments, witchcraft practices, and principalities that threaten to annihilate company visions. These atrocities negatively affect the level and quality of work produced by companies/the quality and level of work produced is of par excellence, albeit at the expense of the mental and physical health of employees. Workingdom Ministry seeks to challenge these ungodly systems and principalities by equipping the saints in the various workplaces to identify the darkness that prevails in their workplaces, wage war that will demolish unrighteous altars, shine their light through godly solutions - all in a bid to make disciples of all nations in prepration for the end time revival. Happy World Social Work Day! Today, we recognize and celebrate the contributions of #socialworkers in communities around the world. At the CPC Learning Network, we've delved into training programs for social workers in 12 countries in #WestAfrica, through a report conducted for UNICEF (https://buff.ly/3vjBgvp ) in 2014 and a research article (https://buff.ly/3Vk0GU7 ) published in 2019. However, often contemplated, such individuals do not account for a modest stand in our society and discriminated against other sections of the society. • Designated as “manual scavengers”, this array of people are entrusted with the hefty amenability of maintaining sanitation through perilous cleaning of sewer and septic tanks. They are subjected to massive social discrimination, even instances of untouchability are chronicled. Besides, this category is bared in filthy conditions flushed with contaminants. Such jobs are not the choice of an individual rather the lack of financial stability and education that propels them into this line of work. • “Namaste” is a joint initiative of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJE) and Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. (MoHUA), a plan of action by the central sector. • The program encapsulates the safety and nobility of this batch by devising an inclusive atmosphere that beholds this section of people as one of the prime contributors of protection and nourishment of mankind. • Namaste aspires to fabricate a platform that will look into the associated issues in this line of employment and eliminate the occupational complexities of the people by providing accessibility to safer and secured equipment. • Namaste aims for zero casualties in this sector, organizing helpers into self-help groups, providing assistance for alternative livelihoods, accompanied with designing supervisory and monitoring systems. • The scheme is said to be introduced in all the 4800 urban local bodies during the next three years with a disbursement of 349.70 crores. #uplifting #enhancement #initiative #government
