Labour Day has come a long way since its inception as a statutory holiday in 1894. Labour organizations across Canada celebrated the day with various events, such as speeches, games, etc. The day also worked as a workers’ forum and allowed time for rest and socializing outside the workplace. With time, the gathering aspect of Labour Day transformed into more of a day people liked spending with families.  Just like the holiday, the workforce has also transitioned over time. From industry-era workers to baby boomers to millennials and now GenZ, the way people work has shifted. Employees are no longer defining themselves just by their work — a sense of rediscovery is in the air. How work is delivered has also changed. From being on-site to working fully from home, we’ve come a long way. But there’s still more to go. Every generation of workers demands that employers adjust the work options they provide. Innovative employers review their employees’ needs so they can stay ahead of the curve and create employee sustainability.  Do you want to lead the pack in employee sustainability? Let’s talk! https://lnkd.in/gA8Gsdpx #labourday #labourdaycanada #workplaceculture
