TCC was a sponsor of CBRE UK’s Premier Charity event, The Great Property Bike Ride, which brought together 700+ cyclists for a day of camaraderie, fitness, and fundraising for CBRE’s charity partner Alzheimer's Society. TCC sponsored the breakfast stand, ensuring participants were well-fueled for their rides. Congratulations to the TCC and Telford Homes team members that participated in the ride: Dan Rees, Toby Pentecost, Luca Castiglione, Mirka Temple, Ethan Morrow, Lee Dyball, Liam Foweather, and Will Knight.

Since joining Prosperity 24/7, I've come to realise that there's not much that brings us together like a good Love to Ride challenge. We managed to top our respective leaderboards in the recent May challenge, although Greener Kirkcaldy gave us an excellent run for our money. We got new people involved in the challenge, we saved an estimated 546lb CO2 through cycling instead of driving and as well as cheering on our usual stalwarts, I also discovered which colleagues will come through last thing on a Friday and undertake a round-the-island-cycle for the extra miles... Sure, winning is fun but what's really nice is to see the behaviour changes starting to take root in the segment of our company that aren't die-hard cyclists (and I include myself in that). Last September I noted that I'm a reluctant cyclist but I'm becoming less reluctant and more willing to do that commute by bicycle. I've also noticed our bike store becoming busier and less frequent cyclists populating the Love to Ride feed more often. That's no mean feat. As someone who deals with change while delivering projects, change isn't always easy to embed but I've always been a fan of gamification as motivation in the right settings. And one of those right settings will be Prosperity Day in September, when our colleagues and clients will compete for bragging rights but also for the much better reason of raising money for charity - this year, we're supporting Healing Waves UK and Jersey Hospice Care - two very deserving charities. So, if you want to do your part, why not sign up for or donate to the tenth Prosperity Day? https://lnkd.in/eFAaUGGf #Lovetoride #change #prosperityday #healingwaves #hospice #charity #cycling
It's #WorldBicycleDay! So what better day to tell you that the 10th edition of Prosperity Day is ready to launch! 🚀 So far we've raised £160,000 for charity and this year we want to raise £40,000 for Jersey Hospice Care and Healing Waves UK Our annual charity fundraising event sees corporate rivals go ‘head to head to head’ in a fast paced stationary cycling challenge. Using our brand new Wahoo KICKR bikes to complete a virtual 30 minute race using 3D Race technology, teams of three will compete against each other to gain race day points which are added to their all important fundraising total and will see who tops the podium. 🚴♂️ 🚴♀️ 🚴♂️ Team captains, get your team mates ready and sign up here https://lnkd.in/eCS2ijBA #GreatMindsAlways #ProsperityDay #Clients #Colleagues #Community #Charity #VentYourFury #CorporateRivalry

I completely agree that it's too common for large organisations in the charity sector to take over contracts from small, community-led groups. This undermines the unique value these smaller organisations, driven by lived experience, bring. It's time for the government and stakeholders to recognise their importance and provide them with more leadership and representation opportunities. These grassroots organisations do the hard work and achieve the results, yet larger entities often take the credit and financial gains. Supporting and empowering small, lived experience organisations is crucial for fostering genuine community engagement and impactful services.
Today I heard yet another story of a large charity parachuting in and taking the contract of a small, local, user and community led charity. When will public services recognise the value of smaller, people centred and user led organisations and not just number on a piece of paper. I see this ever day in my work, but today has been particularly difficult to hear. Some may disagree with me but the system is very broken.

💙 Time to Talk 💙 Talking about mental health isn’t easy but a conversation has the power to save lives. There should always be time to talk. Did you know 1 in 6 people in the UK report experiencing anxiety or depression each week. Here are some tips to consider when starting a conversation: 🔷 Ask open questions and really listen to the response 🔷 Have patience, it may take time and several conversations 🔷 Don’t try to fix or diagnose The more conversations we have around mental health the better. Support myself and the OneSource team as we do the Miles for Smiles challenge in February. Each of us will run, walk or cycle 30 miles in order to raise money for Mind. Our Go fund me page is linked below 💙 #timetotalk #milesforsmiles #conversations #mentalhealthawareness
This year the OneSource HR team are raising money for Mind charity by taking part in a different activity each month. In February, we will be doing a Miles for Smiles challenge where each of us will be completing 30 miles by running, walking or cycling 🏃🏼♀️🚶🏻♀️🚴🏻♀️ Please find the link below to our go fund me page, any donations would be greatly appreciated and please spread the word as more to come throughout the rest of this year! #milesforsmiles #mind https://lnkd.in/gNUXkRbR

We asked our clients to guess how many words I wrote in blogs in 2023. For the three closest guesses we are donating to a charity of their choice. The correct answer was 27,808 across 92 blogs. I am delighted to be sending £500 to each of St Michael's Hospice (Hastings and Rother), St Mungo's and The Eve Appeal.
